Lynn Coulter is a native Southerner who loves iced tea (light on the sugar), porch swings, gardening, books, and travel. After graduating from Georgia State University with a B.A. in Journalism, she worked for a major airline before becoming a stay-at-home mom. In the five-minute intervals when her son took naps, she managed to start freelancing for the Atlanta newspapers. Since then, she's served as a Contributing Editor for Delta Sky and her work has appeared in Southern Living, Family Circle, AAA Traveler, Georgia Magazine, and many other publications for adults and children. She’s the author of three books: Gardening with Heirloom Seeds (UNC Press); Mustard Seeds (B&H Books, Publishers Weekly starred review); and Little Mercies (B&H Books). She’s currently working on a novel. See A Free Christmas Movie At The Church Of Chapel Hill In Douglasville, GA

Is your pocketbook feeling a little skinny from all of your holiday shopping? Even if it is, you can still enjoy a movie this weekend — and it won’t cost you a dime. The Church at Chapel Hill, in Douglasville, GA, is inviting the community to view its brand-new feature film, “Surrendered,” and admission is free.

“Surrendered: The Story of Jay Harding,” was written, produced, and directed by members of the church, and made for a budget of around $15,000. Filmed in the west Atlanta area, the movie tells the story of a father and husband, played by church staff member David McIntyre, who faces a big decision at Christmastime and nearly loses everything he holds dear.

The movie plays in the Worship Auditorium at The Church of Chapel Hill (located at 5357 Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville, GA) on Saturday, December 17 at 6 p.m., and again on Sunday, December 18, at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
