Recap: Breakfast With Santa At Neiman Marcus Fort Worth’s Zodiac Room

Santa is becoming the most requested holiday guest in the Metroplex. I now know why he stays so plump because there always seems to be room at the table for St. Nick. Whether it’s breakfast with Santa, brunch with Santa, or lunch with Santa- Santa seems to be on everyone’s guest list. I was tickled pink to get an invite to one of my  favorite shopping and restaurant destinations in DFW. The Neiman Marcus Breakfast with Santa is an event that hopefully will become one of your holiday traditions.  News flash to all my Dallas foodies- I have finally found Willie Randle! For those of you who didn’t know he was missing I will explain a bit.

Trying to find Mr. Randle is similar to playing a game of Where’s Waldo.  He is the new general manager for the Neiman Marcus Zodiac Restaurant in Fort Worth, and an exceptional choice, might I add. Mr. Randle has been an anchor in the Dallas dining industry for decades, and I am so glad he’s bringing his southern charm to Fort Worth. I was told he took a break to start a new venture and at last he has returned.

I love it when I’m able to take my pint size reviewer, Sebastian on assignment. Dreams of sugar plum fairies and cakes of plenty danced all night in my head. Mouthwatering blueberry pancakes, perfectly cooked bacon, and delicate, soft scrambled eggs.  The decor was over the top, yet felt intimate, at the same time.  Santa’s elves pranced around constructing balloon animals while children played with a mountain of toys. In a room with fifty children, not one melt down happened, which was very surprising and a relief. They must have put something in the pancakes.  I have never seen children so happy and friendly and not one  single fight happened over toys. I think the Neiman’s staff might have second careers as nannies. Everyone left with a full stomach, gift wrapped ornament, and a gigantic smile.

It’s a really fun, “feel-good”event and we’ve had everyone from newborns to grandparents here. “It’s a wonderful production. Lots of happy faces and not just on the kids. It shows you are never to old to believe, “said Willie Randle, GM Zodiac Room, Neiman Marcus Fort Worth.
