Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I had the pleasure of spending time with Enid’O Cosmetics founder, Enid Schneider-O’Sullivan. Enid has been a makeup artist to the stars for many years with an impressive client list that includes Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Katie Couric. Enid is also the featured makeup artist for the TODAY Show’s Plaza Ambush Makeover and her talent is evident in the show’s amazing transformations. She has her cosmetic counter at the famed Louis Licari Salon in New York City. Enid’O cosmetics can also be purchased on her website and at select salons across the country.
The first thing one notices about Enid is how petite she is (behind the scenes secret: she’s on her tip-toes in this article’s picture and I am squatting). After being around Enid, you realize her size is the only small trait she possesses. In fact, it is hard to decide what attribute is her biggest: her talent, her smile or her heart. She sees the beauty in each woman she meets and not only brings that beauty out with makeup, she exuberantly affirms each woman she works with to ensure they know how wonderful they are. In her New York accent you’ll hear her say, “You’re Gorgeous!” While I was with Enid at the Louis Licari Salon, TODAY Show host Hoda stopped by with her mom and Enid flashes her smile and encourages Hoda, “You make millions of people happy!”
- Enid’s infectious personality makes trying on and purchasing cosmetics loads of fun! Currently, her favorite product is her new
- Liquid Blush. “Women in New York want to keep their makeup simple.” says Enid, “So I did these blushes. They are simple to apply and beautiful.” Enid’s other star products are her Liquid Mineral Foundation and all her different lip glosses. When I sat down to look at some lip glosses; she comes around the corner with a large bin full of hundreds of glosses. She smiles and says, “Pick your favorite!”
Enid, and the Louis Licari Salon, regularly donate their talents to support of multiple cancer organizations and children’s hospitals. The cause closest to Enid’s heart is greyhound rescue. “It’s the reason I bought my house in the Hamptons. I wanted them (greyhounds) to have some place to go.” states Enid. She hopes to one day have an operating rescue facility on her Hamptons property. Currently, her cosmetic company supports Greyhound Rescue & Rehabilitation and GREY2KUSA by donating 10% from the sales of her Enid’O Sheer Glow liquid bronzer.
