Rams Head On Stage Offers Live Performances In Downtown Annapolis

Annapolis offers a wide variety of entertainment options to its residents and those who live in the surrounding areas.  If stellar live performances and tantalizing fare is what you crave, Rams Head On Stage is the place to be.  Situated in a historic setting on West Street and attached to Rams Head Tavern, Rams Head On Stage offers access to great live acts throughout the year.  From bluegrass duos to hard rock legends, you can find a little bit of everything at Rams Head On Stage.

As the #1 nightclub with a capacity below 500 seats in the world, Rams Head On Stage has definitely made a name for itself.  The entertainment venue began hosting live acts in November of 1997 and since that time has seen music acts of all varieties.  Bands and musicians from around the world have played the stage at Rams Head as well as comedians and other unique acts.  Most of the shows are 21+ shows but every once in awhile there will be an all ages matinee show.

When you enter the venue, you will find an up close and personal setting.  Attendees are seated at tables and get to watch the show while being able to purchase items from the On Stage menu.  As opposed to some other live entertainment venues where you can only choose from a few different appetizer options, when you dine at Rams Head On Stage you will have access to a wide array of delicious pub food and appetizer choices (the roasted red pepper hummus platter is my favorite).  The servers are generally assigned to specific sections so by the end of the night you will get to know your server and will easily be able to gain their attention throughout the show to order more food or get a refresher on your pint.  Speaking of pints, Rams Head offers Fordham drafts of different varieties.  As I love the dark beers, I automatically go for the Genius Stout every time.  If draft beer is not your cup of tea, bottle beers, cocktails, and glasses of wine, in addition to non-alcoholic beverages, are yours for the choosing.

Once you are settled in with a cold beverage and a delicious meal, you can get ready for a live performance like no other.  Having seen a few shows at Rams Head On Stage, I can state with some certainty that the sound quality in the room is stellar.  The seating arrangements of the room are also quite favorable to those who attend the shows.   Although some seats will be more “prime” than others will be simply due to their close proximity to the stage, I honestly do not think that there is a bad seat in the house.  The beauty of Rams Head On Stage is that you get to see popular live acts in a small setting which gives you advantages regarding sight, sound, and the overall ambience of the room.

After the show is over, head out to the other rooms of the Rams Head Tavern to continue the festivities.  While there you can have another drink, enjoy some more pub fare, and even take in another live music act offered by one or more local musicians.  Whatever you choose to do, just make sure to take a walk through the tavern to indulge in the historic features of the building and get the full experience of Rams Head.
