Love Crunch Bars: A Delicious, Nutritious Way To Feed The Hungry

When donating money to charitable organizations we rarely know exactly where our money is going or what it’s paying for. It was just this quandary that inspired entrepreneur Mitch Blosky to create and found The Love Crunch Company, a company dedicated to putting a dent in world hunger. Blosky commented, “I wanted a more literal way of donating…. [I] felt like it was time to step up to the plate”.

The Love Crunch Company hand-makes nutrition bars, Love Crunch Bars, aimed to reverse the effects of malnutrition. Jam-packed with 26 vitamins and minerals, the recipe for Love Crunch Bars was carefully researched and designed by Mitch to give consumers the best possible nutritional benefits.

But what makes Love Crunch unique? When you buy a Love Crunch Bar half of it literally goes to feed someone who is starving. To reiterate: you purchase one half of a Love Crunch Bar and the second half is donated to the hungry. You never have to question the good your ‘donation’ is doing. Love Crunch is America’s only one-for-one food movement.

At the moment, this ‘one-for-one’ food movement is a small operation that has already fed over 1000 people nation-wide. Run by Blosky and a group of volunteers, it operates out of a commercial kitchen in Indiana until they are able to expand into a factory kitchen.  There, they hand-make each Love Crunch Bar from organic materials and their own recyclable wrapper; a process that is incredibly time consuming. Blosky admits to working 18 to 20 hour days in order to make his

dream a reality. He also designed the product’s striking wrapper himself and believes that it physically demonstrates the donation of half of the bar. Between the organic ingredients, environmentally friendly packaging and The Love Crunch Company’s mission to feed the world’s starving, Love Crunch is “the most socially responsible product on the market”.

To date, this ambitious group has delivered Love Crunch Bars to Las Vegas, East Saint Louis, Washington D.C., and Chicago. They hope to bring as many Love Crunch Bars to as many cities that need them. Every single donation or purchase of a Love Crunch Bar helps someone in need.

In Chicago, The Love Crunch Company operates out of the Saint James Food Pantry on Wabash. You can also purchase a Love Crunch Bar in Chicago at the South Loop Market, Sip Coffee House, Off The Tracks, and Coffee and Tea Exchange. Additionally, they are also carried by health food stores and novelty shops. You can also purchase Love Crunch Bars, make donations and find further information at lovecrunch.org. Stop by and pick up a meal that is not only delicious and great for your health but is literally helping the hungry.
