Hannah Walker is a senior at Georgetown University, majoring in English and minoring in Japanese. This mostly means she can justify spending a lot of money on books and sushi. She grew up in New Jersey, which has instilled in her a love of Bruce Springsteen, strong opinions about pizza quality, and a complete inability to pump her own gas. A devotee of stories in all forms, she is an avid reader, tv- and movie-watcher, and playgoer. Hannah especially loves the arts in DC, from Artomatic to Opera at the Kennedy Center to street art in Adams Morgan. Hannah is happy to talk at length about any new books or movies, and jumps at any opportunity to cover cultural events. If you have a Washington, DC charity or cultural event, restaurant, boutique, spa, or salon you would like covered on Miss A, please contact Hannah at hannahrtwalker@gmail.com.

Lady Gaga Tops The World’s Most Powerful Women With Klout List

Klout, an online tool for bloggers, online magazines, and others trying to reach an audience through the internet, created their own response to Forbes‘ list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women. But their list, the Forbes’ Most Powerful Women with Klout, takes Forbes’ world-shaking women and measures their online influence.

Using the Klout score, which is measure by how many people you influence, how much you influence them, and the influence of your network, Klout came up with a slightly different list of (instead of the world) the world-wide web’s most powerful women. Instead of Angela Merkel, Hilary Clinton, Dilma Roussef, Indra Nooyi, and Sheryl Sandberg , Klout’s top five are Lady Gaga, Ellen DeGeneres, Arianna Huffington, Christina Hernandez, and Oprah Winfrey. While Forbes’ Top Five are mostly politicians and businesswomen, Klout’s Top Five is mostly entertainers or media personalities. Interestingly, Christina Hernandez is the only political women with internet Klout to rival Oprah’s. It may come as less of a surprise that media-savvy Mother Monster Lady Gaga has not only topped Billboard’s charts, but Klout’s as well. Kudos to our own, Miss A whose Klout score is usually in the 60’s! Follow Miss A on Twitter @AskMissA and on the Miss A Facebook page!
