On Wednesday October 19th, The Medical Spa at NOVA opened its doors to host with WD Designs Jewelry the second annual A Breast Cancer Awareness Event Benefiting Tigerlily Foundation. The proceeds of the event will be helping Tigerlily Foundation fund Buddy Bags, Meals at Home and Chemotherapy Buddy Program for women under forty battling breast cancer.
Breast Cancer survivors and fighters were the guests of honor at the event and were able to enjoy chair massages, threading services, makeup application by Makeup Artistry by Tracie, nibble on cake pops by Chantel’s Bakery, dipping into a chocolate Fountain by The Chocolate Chick and sipping on wine provided by Il Pioppo Wines. There was also shopping that the attendees could have fun with including WD Designs Awareness Jewelry, gifts from The Dandelion Patch, and Miche Bags. All of the vendors were donating part of their companies proceeds that night to Tigerlily Foundation.
It was a great night including an exciting raffle and silent auction which had
items for everyone. Maimah Karmo Founder of Tigerlily Foundation and Dr Grace Keenan, Medical Director at Nova Medical & Urgent Care Centers thanked everyone for helping raise awareness and the importance of young women understanding their own bodies and that breast cancer does affect women under the age of forty.
The icing on the cake was that the attendance doubled from last year’s as well as the money raised at the end of the evening. last year they raised $2,418 for Breast Cancer Network of Strength, this year they raised $5,850 for Tigerlily Foundation. Next year they hope to double this year’s success!
