Cuban-American artist David “LEBO” Le Batard, an internationally touted cartoon expressionist, will interpret his “Three Steps Towards Heaven,” an artistic progression towards happiness, in a three-part LEBO Live! performance series beginning at 9:00p.m. on November 12th, at The Stage, located in the heart of the Design District.
Every second Saturday of the month, shops, galleries, restaurants, and designer showrooms in the Design District keep their doors open to the public until 10:00pm for “Art & Design Night.” Local bars and lounges, like The Stage, celebrate by inviting guests to enjoy live music and art after-parties and events, such as LEBO Live! performances, which bring together both visual and audio mediums in what the artist likes to call “painting as performance.” “LEBO” captivates audiences as he creates in his signature vivid color palette to a carefully curated playlist with synchronized video on an oversized projection screen.
The Miami-based artist has shared stages with such lauded performers as the Beastie Boys, Thievery Corporation, Arturo Sandoval, and Winton Marsalis. He has established a cult-like following through his collaborative efforts and his outrageous improvisational abilities. “Three Steps toward Heaven” series will kick off at 9:00pm at the Stage on the following dates, November 12th, January 14, 2012, and March 10, 2012.
