For the Halloween groupies, blood and gore enthusiasts, thrill seekers or the curious this event is intended for you. With over 7,300 attendees and a trickling of late comers (a.k.a. undead) in 2010, Denver Zombie Crawl is one of the best and most ghastly Zombie Crawl you can ask for.
Every year for the past five years, streets of Downtown Denver turn into what looks like an apocalypse, and each year it gets more epic. Pale faces and (faux) blood stained (not so) living dead will scour the town for fresh blood. Well, not really. It’s all for the name of charity where the brains behind the Crawl ”ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Food Bank of the Rockies.” You can still Zombie it up if you wish and don’t be afraid to really Zombie it up if you decide to join the fun because you’ll feel like “the one at the party who’s under dressed”.
On October 22nd, the 6th Annual Denver Zombie Crawl is FREE and all-ages friendly. It will commence at 4 p.m. Zombies will gather at the Skyline Park (16th and Arapahoe) and parade down 16th Street Mall. They ask that you do register if you decide to Zombie it up so they can get a head count because who doesn’t want to exceed the 7,300 mark and make Denver the World Record for most Zombie infested town for the night? (Was it New Jersey or Dublin that holds the record?)
Besides the Zombie Crawl there are other events going on before and after. Get on board at 11 a.m. for a run/walk/crawl a.k.a. ORGAN Trail “around Downtown Denver that’s part Amazing Race, part Fear Factor, and part Haunted House.” Teams of the undead will solve clues around downtown Denver, and race to win a cash prize of up to $300. To see tips for what to wear and bring, and how to form a team, check out the website here.
Join the after party a.k.a. Stay Alive at City Hall at 8pm for food trucks, drinks, dancers, contests and many more.
Bring on the (faux) blood and gore and jump start your Halloween fun on the 22nd! And seriously, dress it up and go all out.
