Miss A Columnist

As a 4-year Leukemia survivor, Stacey Mertes is heavily involved in fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as well as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the American Diabetes Association. Her 7-year-old son, Logan, is a recently diagnosed Type 1 diabetic, but keeps Stacey on her toes with his own active fundraising endeavors such as the Columbia Tower climb (for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society), WaMu stair climb (for Cystic Fibrosis), and several triathlons and other stair climbs around the city. Originally from a suburb of Chicago, Stacey has lived in many of the local neighborhoods (including spending 11 years next to the Pike Place Market), since graduating from the University of Washington. She finally settled down in the most diverse zip code in the country, Columbia City, where she enjoys walks to the many restaurants, farmers market, and art events nearby. Her favorite hobby of late is finding the most fun “free” things to do around Seattle with her son. She loves movies, plays, visiting the Pacific Science Center and other museums, and finding those geocaching adventures.

If you aren’t familiar with Stacy London, she is one of America’s premiere style experts, one of the original hosts of TLC’s What Not to Wear, and a regular style contributor to NBC’s Today Show. Stacy London has joined forces with Westfield to create the Westfield Style Magazine, a how-to fashion manual which features the latest fall trends along with stories on Westfield retailers and their hottest product lines.

Make an appointment for a personalized consultation with one of the Style for Hire stylists. As part of the consultation, you will receive apparel recommendations, and then enjoy a free makeup consultation at the Westfield Beauty Bar. Stylists will use the Westfield Style Closet – a source for the trendiest merchandise from popular Westfield Southcenter retailers, including favorite national and international brands.

The highlight of the Tour is Stacy London’s show on the Westfield Fashion Stage in Macy’s Court. On Saturday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m., Stacy London will begin with interviewing fashion and beauty experts, show a video from the making of the Westfield Style Magazine, and share the stories of three lucky local women who won the “Get Styled by Stacy” contest.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m., Stacy will host a fashion show of the latest Fall trends on 15 real-women models, provide fashion tips and tricks for the Fall season and unveil the new looks selected for the “Get Styled by Stacy” contest winners.

As a bonus, Stacy will also be looking for audience members with great style. A few lucky shoppers that catch her eye will be featured in the Spring issue of Westfield Style Magazine.

After your personal consultation, armed with a completely new look, you will then score discount cards and other special incentives to buy items from the apparel and beauty lines you encounter during your visit.

The Westfield Style Tour is produced in association with IMG — producers of New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
