Tienlyn Jacobson is a writer specializing in fashion and beauty. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she has lived in numerous cities including Melbourne, Beijing, New York, and Los Angeles but still considers San Francisco to be home. She has a double Bachelors in Art and Sociology, but after a brief stint at FIDM for fashion marketing, she found herself with a serious obsession for fashion and has been heavily involved in the industry ever since. When she is not writing about fashion or beauty, she is most likely writing music with her husband, taking photos, styling photoshoots, or obsessing over eco friendly foods.

Conifer Shop In San Francisco’s Cow Hollow

Small spaces have their benefits as is made apparent by Conifer, located on Webster Street, just off of the busiest blocks of Union Street in Cow Hollow. The shop was created by the former Built By Wendy sales director Amy Mautz upon her arrival to San Francisco after a few years in New York and used both locations to inspire the store. The East coast influence is married harmoniously with a West coast attitude and features up and coming New York designers as well as emerging global brands.

Conifer is a first stop must when sussing out labels that are generally elusive to San Francisco as well as the west coast. You can expect to find tasteful and striking designs for women from brands such as MM6, Amy Mautz, Lover, Current Elliot, Lauren Moffat and Eco Friendly Organic by John Patrick. The men’s selection is just as impressive, touting designs from Relwen, Jack Spade and Woolrich. Jewelry designs include pieces by Lacoli & Mcallister, Ishi and Wendy Mink, making Conifer a great place for finding and organically inspired statement pieces such as the Abalone Necklace, by Wendy Nichol, which combines a New Zealand abalone shell with a hand cast gold spike on a 22 inch chain.

The space itself presents you with a sense of calm. The well lit accent track lights and stark white walls pair well with finished hardwood floors and a gorgeous crafted wood table (built by the owner) to give the small space a feeling of being part museum, part summer cottage in Switzerland. For how small the space is, the selection is plentiful and well spaced. You can even find housewares in the back such as beautifully packaged and charming soaps that would make for the perfect gift for that friend who seems to already have everything.

As the store is constantly being updated, be sure to check back regularly or visit their website for news or to shop the store’s selection online.
