One look at Emma Stone’s July Vogue cover, and it’s clear that rich glossy lips are a major fall beauty trend. With so many choices available, what will women-in-the-know pucker up with this autumn? Mycah Kirkland: Natasha, thank you so much for taking time out of your schedule to speak with us today!

MK: “Skone” is such an interesting name. Where did it come from?
NC: Skone actually means beautiful or beauty in South African language. I chose Skone because I wanted a word to signify the essence of what I’m trying to do and that’s sell beauty products, and what better word than Skone!

MK: I couldn’t agree with you more. Now as far as Skone is concerned can you tell us a little more about your line?
NC: My beauty products are luxurious high-end cosmetics and they have really high levels of pigment in them. So its not something that is totally organic that will disappear in an hour and its not something that’s harsh with nothing beneficial it. The products fall right in the middle so you get that high pigment, but you’re also getting beneficial ingredients like Vitamin A, Shea butter, hyaluronic acid and a really good SPF.
MK: Do you have a background in cosmetics and beauty ?
NC: I do. I am a New Jersey licensed-Esthetician. I went to Christine Valmy in Pine Brook, New Jersey and it was a very, very enlightening experience considering I came from corporate America.
MK: It is fantastic that you’ve had skin care training. So how are things going with Skone?
NC: We just did an official launch. I did a false launch last summer and lately I’ve been doing more writing, more blogging, sending out emails and connecting with customers letting them know about the beauty trends for this summer.
MK: We’re also starting to gear up for the fall at MissA. What do you feel will be hot for the fall?
NC: I noticed this summer that the grape purple look gloss was trending. I think its the first time that I’ve seen deep lip colors really make a stand in the summer and I think that trend will continue right into the fall.
MK: We’ve seen that too. Do you have a key shade that will be meet this trend?
NC: Yes the Grape Purple lip gloss will be perfect.
MK: Here at AskMissA.com our mantra is “Where Charity Meets Style”. Is Skone involved in any charitable initiatived that we can tell our readers about?
NC: I’m looking into going to different women’s shelters to offer our services and to give out some free cosmetics there. I’ll be blogging about about it and posting some video so keep looking out for it.
MK: We sure will. What does the future hold for Skone Cosmetics? Where is it now and where is it heading?
NC: Right now Skone is in sort of a introductory phase, people are still learning what Skone is and learning about the benefits of Skone. In five years my goal is for it to be offered in a store near you.
MK: I hear that Skone has a promotion going on this month.
NC: Yes! Summer is all about sexy, glossed up lips. Even women who are lipstick wearers, tend to wear a lot of gloss in the summer. One of our top summer sellers is lip gloss, and so we are offering a free Super Nectar lip gloss with any $25 purchase.

NC: I would like them to know the importance of understanding their undertones. If you go to the blog section of the website there is a whole article on undertones. If women would read that I think it would be so helpful because its really the foundation for knowing what colors and shades look best on them. Makeup is universal, but there are colors that will make you absolutely radiant and glow. Also I am very accesible customers can always email me or call me if they need personal assistance.

I love learning about new products. She seems to really have her head and heart in the right place. She seems to care about quality and the idea that she will be reaching out to women in shelters is awesome! You can’t turn your life around if you don’t feel good about yourself.
