Miss A Columnist

Lauren Farris currently works as a Stylist, and for a private label apparel company as a Sales Manager/Mass Merchandiser. She writes on the side to express her creativity, frustrations, and share funny little life stories. She currently writes fashion articles for eHow.com and has a blog about her oh-so-fun life. She was born and raised in Arkansas where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and accounting, only to find her true passion was fashion. She moved to the bay area to attend FIDM for design and merchandising. She enjoys traveling any chance she gets, whether it is a quick camping trip, wine tasting in Napa, hitting the slopes in Tahoe, or trips to see one of her many siblings in various places around the world. She has traveled to over 20 countries and plans on many more. For fun she loves to eat at new restaurants, experiment with her own cooking, host fabulous dinner parties (she could put Martha to shame), treat herself to spas, and feed her shopping addiction. She is a member of a book club, Museo Italian (for language classes), and attempting to not be kicked out of her knitting circle (one of her down falls). Lauren moved to San Francisco about 2 years ago and continues to find new and exciting things to do every weekend. If you have a San Francisco charity or cultural event, restaurant, boutique, spa, or salon you would like covered on Miss A, please contact Lauryn at laurynf1@yahoo.com.

Cloud Nine Skin And Body Care In San Francisco’s Marina District

Cloud Nine Skin and Body Care is new to the Marina and Cow Hollow area but not new to the skillful and talented work of Roxanne Ralph.  She has over 17 years of experience as an esthetician and skin care consultant and has just opened up a new beauty oasis in San Francisco.  Whether you are looking for a relaxing facial, an aging regiment or maybe it is time pamper yourself, Cloud Nine has it all.

I recently went in for the Classic Babor Facial and the Glycolic Peel (I figure the last 30 years haven’t been very nice to my skin and it was time to take charge of these new wrinkles creeping up on me).  Roxanne had a very calming aura to her and her room was clean and relaxing, not to mention the view of the bay is breathtaking.  Once we started the process she gave me a free skin consultation.  She wanted to know what my everyday practice was (exercise, products, skincare etc), and then the treatment began.  She was very informative and positive that we could really work at reversing some of the damage I have done to my skin.  She didn’t once try to convince me to change my everyday habits, like running outside or lying out because I love tanning, instead she worked up a treatment that worked for my lifestyle.  She didn’t push all of her products on me either, instead she advised me on things I could do within my budget, which I really appreciated.

All in all, Roxanne worked wonders with my face and I left there feeling really confident that I could get my old face back.  So if you are looking for a new esthetician that really cares about your skin and cares for your business visit Cloud Nine on Union Street- I promise you will not be disappointed.
