WHERE: University of Washington campus, Northeast Seattle
There’s strength in numbers: The Conquer Chiari “Walk Across America” is a series of coordinated awareness and fundraising walks being held across the country on the same day. All proceeds benefit Chiari (a neurological disorder affecting about 300,000 people in the United States) research.
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 24 at 9:00 a.m.
WHERE: Volunteer Park, Capitol Hill, Seattle
Seattle’s Lifelong AIDS Alliance is hosting its 25th Annual Seattle AIDS Walk & 5K Run, the Pacific Northwest’s largest annual HIV/AIDS fundraiser for HIV prevention and basic care services. After the walk, join the Alliance for their AIDS Walk After-Party, with snacks and music for participants.
WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 20 at 9:00 a.m.
WHERE: Seward Park, South Seattle
To celebrate the spookiest time of the year, participants receive a trick-or-treat bag filled with Halloween goodies, candy corn on the course and door prizes. There’s even a post-race costume contest, free kids dash, doggie costume contest and a pumpkin soup feed, all benefiting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

WHERE: Warren G. Magnuson Park, Northeast Seattle
The Puget Sound Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is hosting its 2nd annual Charity 5K Walk. The event is a family-friendly way to raise awareness, and includes music and kids’ activities. Register by Oct. 21 to guarantee a T-shirt.
