Take a break to a simpler time when you step into Miss Mamie’s Cupcakes, Cakes and Such. Located on the south end of historic Marietta Square, owner Mamie Jo provides a sweet get-a-way in her antique styled bakery. Cupcakes are grouped and set out on classic fashioned plates at the display counter. A long list of various cupcakes are offered on the daily board including Chocolate Mint, Cookies and Cream, Margarita and Strawberry.

I sampled four cupcakes and have nothing but superior reviews for the bakery. The White Chocolate cupcake is baked with actual white chocolate pieces, topped off with buttercream frosting and white chocolates. This cupcake had the perfect balance of sweetness without being extremely rich. The Guinness cupcake is baked with Guinness beer, covered with cream cheese frosting and chocolate chips. This cupcake is men’s motivation to drive their ladies to Miss Mamie’s. Other than being deliciously moist, each layer of cupcake had a distinguishable taste that blended tastefully together. Rocky Road was my third cupcake of choice. Covered in chocolate buttercream, this cupcake is dressed up with eye appealing pecans, marshmallows, and a dash of chocolate syrup. The cupcake is baked with a basic chocolate flavor and screams of a chocolate overload. This was a little too rich for my taste buds but appetizing nonetheless. My favorite cupcake of the group was Cheesecake. Baked with cheesecake batter, this cupcake is coated in cream cheese frosting and topped off with a plump cherry. The flavors of the cupcake were delicious and tasted as though I was eating an actual cheesecake.

Miss Mamie’s gives customers the opportunity to host birthdays, bridal and baby showers at the bakery. Cupcake decorating classes are also offered for the creative bunch. If you are ever in the Marietta area, be sure to try all the flavors at Miss Mamie’s Cupcakes, Cakes and Such. I highly recommend the bakery and cannot wait to try the Devil Food, Reeses, and S’More cupcakes.
