Tienlyn Jacobson is a writer specializing in fashion and beauty. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she has lived in numerous cities including Melbourne, Beijing, New York, and Los Angeles but still considers San Francisco to be home. She has a double Bachelors in Art and Sociology, but after a brief stint at FIDM for fashion marketing, she found herself with a serious obsession for fashion and has been heavily involved in the industry ever since. When she is not writing about fashion or beauty, she is most likely writing music with her husband, taking photos, styling photoshoots, or obsessing over eco friendly foods.

There are stores that require a great deal of rummaging before you come across a stellar find and certainly, there are times when the effort is worth it.  Then again, there are other times when you just want to be greeted with the sight of efficiently pre-selected adorable pieces, which is exactly what you will find when you step over the threshold of Y & I Clothing Boutique located in the Marina/Cow Hollow district.

Carefully culled, Y & I Clothing Boutique carries a little bit of everything from dresses, belts, sunglasses and a small selection of shoes to those little extra under the outfit helpers such as Nubra, Hollywood Fashion Tape and Footpetals.   The well lit airy boutique is the best place to find that perfect dress for your summer picnics and barbecues and an easy place to accessorize it as well.

One of my favorite items carried in this exquisitely tasteful boutique are from neo-boho Nicole Richie’s collection House of Harlow.  Fresh for Spring 2011, I found myself debating between the thick and thin versions of the House of Harlow Feather Bangle before becoming distracted by the surprisingly affordable vintage gold toned Rectangle Ring.

Alongside a great assortment of dresses from designers such as Ella Moss, Amanda Uprichard and Robbie & Nikki by Robert Rodriguez.  Y & I Clothing Boutique also carries denim from the likes of Rock & Republic and William Rast as well as other closet-worthy items from designers such as 39sixtyone, Collective Olive, Eight Sixty and BB Dakota.  The staff will be as involved as you would like them to be, will offer honest advice much like a good shopping buddy should and are happy to bring more things to you while you are in the dressing room so you can focus the most important thing – trying to figure out how not to leave the store with an entirely new wardrobe.

Y & I boutique also has another store in Austin Texas, if you should ever find yourself in the area.  As well, stay tuned to their website as they will soon be offering online shopping for those days you want to browse the racks while still in your PJ’s.
