Nestled in Boca Raton’s Mizner Park, the Dubliner Irish Pub is a vibrant, energy-filled, casual restaurant/bar that transports patrons from ‘Boca-burbia’ to what feels like a lively Boston bar atmosphere.
This small and cozy bar draws quite a fun crowd, so be prepared to befriend your fellow patrons. Live rock or folk music with no cover charge fills the house each evening, so ladies grab your swanky heals and get ready to order up some cocktails while you dance the night away. The wait staff is exceptionally friendly; in fact, the owner gave me a wooden token with a four-leaf clover on it as a lucky charm for my then soon-to-be-born son, Declan (an Irish lad, mind you). The interior of the restaurant dons a large, dark wooden bar that covers an entire wall, tall exposed ceilings, several flat screen TVs, and large glass windows that face the center of the manicured park.
Traditional Irish fare is served in generous portions for dinner, so bring your appetite. I highly recommend their award-winning Shepherd’s pie and my husband applauds their fabulous fish sandwich. The Irish coffee tiramisu dessert is a definite must-have, and a perfect size for sharing. On a nice evening, you can choose to eat outside, where you’ll be sure to enjoy some good people and dog watching. The wait staff keeps a large doggie-biscuit jar in the front entrance to treat canine friends. If you time your visit just right, then you can also listen to a concert emanating from the nearby Mizner Park amphitheater, which attracts famous artists such as Harry Connick, Jr. To sum up my experience at Dubliner’s Irish Pub and to quote the Irish poet Oscar Wilde, “I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.” Bain taitneamh as do bhéile (translation: Enjoy your meal)!
