Starting with the locally recognized, Colorado Fresh Market presents Cherry Creek Farmer’s Market. Located on 1st and University, this top-rated market takes place every Wednesday from 9am – 1pm and Saturday from 8am – 1pm.  A visit to this market will fill your shopping basket with hearty produce, healthy munchies and local love. And for those who follow Denver Street Food, this market is a hot spot for Food Trucks of Denver.

Also catering to the Sunday crowd is Stapleton Farmer’s Market just North East of the Cherry Creek Farmer’s Market. Starting at 8:30am – 12:30pm, you’ll find “Colorado-grown fruits and vegetables, tasty baked goods, fresh culinary herbs, seasonal greens, specialty meats, gourmet food items and more.”

On the south side of Central Denver is the Old South Pearl Farmer’s Market. After eleven seasons and still going strong, OSP Farmer’s Market went from ten vendors to over sixty vendors where they are proud to be the host of “Ela Family Farms, known far and wide for their mouth-watering peaches and apples from the Western Slope, and Styria Bakery, legendary for their fresh baked bread” and many more notable vendors. What’s unique about this market is their very own special events held throughout the season, which you can find here.

Speaking of special, Tiri’s Garden Farmer’s Market is the newest addition to the Farmer’s Market scene in Denver. Once a parking lot structure, Tiri’s has graced the Denver Downtown scene since 2009 created what is now a vegetable garden. Every Wednesday from 9am – 2pm, vendors from around Denver delivers enjoyable lunches where a portion of their proceeds are donated to Denver Public Schools Foundation’s A to Z Fund “a program that provides funding for students to further their learning experiences through literary trips and after school activities.” What a perfect reason to support this fresh-faced Farmer’s Market.

Joining the newbie cart is the Highlands United Neighbors Inc. Farmer’s Market, a neighborhood known for supporting local everything and sustainable lifestyles. Beginning at 9am and ending at 1pm, HUNI Farmer’s Market is just a arms reach away from favorite restaurants like Lola, Vita and Masterpiece Delicatessen.

But wait. Are you living/ working outside of Central Denver and don’t have the time to travel this far?

Not to worry.

There are plenty of Farmer’s Market spanning from Highlands Ranch to Wheat Ridge to Aurora to Golden and thanks to Metro Denver Farmer’s Market plus other hosts, these places have been getting a taste of local treats all over Colorado for over 30 years.

Under the wing of Metro Denver Farmer’s Market, Havana Exchange Farmer’s Market and Aurora’s Farmer’s Market sits on the east of Denver. Move southwards and you’ll find Highland Ranch Farmer’s Market and Littleton Farmer’s Market. Just west of Littleton is the Southwest Plaza Farmer’s Market. Finally, cast your eyes north and the Wheat Ridge Farmer’s Market is waiting for you. You can find all the days, times and details right here.

If you reside in Lakewood, Belmar has its very own The Market at Belmar located in the Belmar Shopping Center. Known as the European-inspired market, this sui generis Farmer’s Market of Greater Denver occurs every Sunday from 10am – 2pm. On a Saturday, just thirty minutes west of Belmar is the Golden Farmer’s Market where other than food, “the market features live music and free horse-drawn carriage rides through Historic Golden each week.”

So wear that sundress (or those cute little shorts), break out those flip flops, sip on watermelon smoothies and treat yourself to some local fun.

*UPDATE: Renee Oritz (see comments) was so kind to share the news of  Hangar 2 Lowry Farmer’s Market.
