Bottega Brandina Comes to King Street in Charleston

I am very excited that Susan Michelle Seeger will be store manager to a shop reminiscent of the small shops and boutiques found in Europe opening this spring. Specializing in handbags and accessories from the Italian Riviera, Bottega Brandina will be home to their only store in US. Before Charleston, this shop could only be found in Italy and Spain.

The store is built around the relaxed, fun-filled, authentic lifestyle of the 1950’s Italian Riviera. Its products are crafted from the unique fabric originally used on the iconic sun loungers and beach chairs from that era making their bags and accessories perfect for Charleston’s hot summer days.

I truly felt like I was in Italy when I stepped into the transformed 318 King Street space last Tuesday for their grand opening. The employees wore adorable “Twiggy” like sheaths as they passed around complimentary Prosecco (Italy’s Champagne) along with other Italian favorites such as Caprese and Gelato. I personally loved the Crystal Lux bag and their adorable Clutch that is made from vintage swim caps. I simply can’t wait to get my hands on one! I am also loving there beautiful blue and white striped towels that will look so cool on the beach or laid across the front of the boat I’ll be sunning myself on in the coming summer months. If I had a pool, you could guarantee I would also have one of their adorable chairs that come with your own sunshade and figure of an Italian diva stretched across the canvas. The best part about all of their items is that they won’t fade in Charleston’s relentlessly hot sun.
