Shake Shack: DC’s Newest Burger Joint Shakes Up Dupont

The long lines outside of Shake Shack’s newest location speak for themselves — the burgers, fries, and shakes are simply delicious!  Shake Shack, which started in NYC, and now has locations in Miami and the Middle East, opened its latest franchise in Washington, DC’s Dupont Circle neighborhood.  The modern-day burger joint serves up fries, hot dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine, and of course – burgers.

The latest locale in DC already has a loyal following, and with several good reasons

Super Star Staff

Customer satisfaction appears to be a #1 priority for the staff at Shake Shack.  Their big smiles, sociable and gracious demeanor, and attention to detail (for example, addressing customers by their first name) go a long way.

Environmentally Conscious

Shake Shack is leading the way in “going green.”  They used sustainable materials when constructing one of their NYC locations and created a Wind Energy Program to off-set their electricity consumption.   An innovative company, they also recycle their used cooking oil into bio-diesel fuel.

Delicious Food

The famous Shack Burger, served with American cheese, lettuce, tomato and “Shack Sauce,” should not be missed, and could be described in one word as “amazing.”  The ‘Shroom Burger, a fried Portobello served with Muenster and cheddar cheeses, is a yummy option for any vegetarian out there.  Shake Shack’s fries, which contain about 25% less fat than most, allow you to indulge without any of the guilt!

Need to satisfy a sweet tooth?  Enjoy one of Shake Shack’s signature Concretes which are described on the menu as “dense frozen custard blended at high speed with toppings & mix-ins.”  The Dupont Circle location has several politically-themed Concretes on their menu that give a nod to the DC area:  Majority Whip (vanilla custard with seasonal fruit and whipped cream), Washington Monu-Mint (chocolate custard with minted marshmallow and cookie dough), and Presidential Sweet (vanilla custard with peanut butter, marshmallow, and caramel chocolate chunks).  Registered as an Independent?  Design your own Concreation Foundation by picking the custard and mix-ins of your choice.

So whether you’re coming from the office, the gym, the bar, or a baseball game (a Nationals Park location is set to open this season), get your fix of burgers & fries from the best DC has to offer.  In the end, it will be well worth the lines (and the wait).
