How to Get Involved in Washington: A Private Club Primer

For those seeking an avenue to meet new people, but don’t have that philanthropic/volunteer bug, there is always the option to join a private club in the city.  Private clubs, similar to a country club but without the golf course, offer members a multitude of benefits and services, providing everything from meeting facilities, health club amenities, dining options, social programs, private event rooms, spa treatments, concierge services and many more — all with the comfort and privacy of a home away from home.  Club membership can open many doors and provide an informal opportunity to network with the Who’s Who of Washington, or just a comfortable and familiar spot to have dinner and wait out the traffic before heading home in the evening.

I’ve listed a few of the most prominent private clubs in the DC metro area along with contact information.  Most clubs require sponsorship by at least one, if not two, current members.
