Colorado Reaches Out to Alabama

In response to the devastating tornadoes that ravished Alabama on April 27, 2011, three great events have been planned in Denver to bring relief to the state of Alabama.

CO4AL, BamaDenver and Rocky Mountain Auburn Club present 2 Days to Raise on Saturday, May 14, 2011 and Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Moe’s Original Bar B Que locations on Broadway.

SATURDAY DONATION DRIVE
WHEN: Saturday, May 14, 2011
WHERE: Moe’s BBQ North
530 Broadway Denver, CO 80203
WHAT: Moe’s BBQ North will host a crawfish boil and donation drive. Items will be shipped to the United Way of West Alabama and distributed to the areas that are most in need throughout the region. SUNDAY BENEFIT CONCERT AND SILENT AUCTION
WHEN: Sunday, May 15, 2011
WHERE: Moe’s BBQ South 3295 S. Broadway Denver, CO 80013
WHAT: At Moe’s BBQ South there will be a benefit  concert and silent auction. $10 will get you into the benefit or you can opt to pay $15, which includes admission plus the BBQ. They are currently gathering numerous items for the silent auction from kind donors such as Blue Bell Ice Cream, Pure Vita Spa, Canvas and Cocktails, Bass Pro-Shop, Brandon’s Pub, Harvard Gulch and many more. Drink specials include $2 PBR, $3.50 Bloody Marys and $3.50 Jim Beam. Additional donations will be accepted at the door. The benefit will also include live music from seven bands:

Sweet Home Alabama: A Day of Music for Tornado Relief will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Pete’s Monkey Bar (717 E. Colfax Ave). Longest Day of the Year is opening the show followed by a 3 hour Denver All Star Jam with other musicians including Mighty High Band, Eric Hood, Little Mikey Colfax (Colfax Radio), Chris Ray, Adam Stern, Aaron Rose, Damon Wood, Adam Hill and Evan StitchlerYazoo BBQ will be served and there will be a raffle and silent auction with plenty of great items from artists and businesses around the city.
