Calling all vintage lovers and fashionistas! Grab your social calendar and save the date for Modern Vintage Chicago: Spring Fashion & Jewels Explosion, taking place April 16th and 17th. Recognized as one of the top three vintage shows in the country, Modern Vintage is the perfect place to score, one-of-a-kind, fashion finds.

The show draws vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories vendors from Atlanta, NYC, Texas, Minneapolis and Philadelphia along with local dealers including Brett Benson, Go Fish Vintage, David B, Pure Vintage Chicago and many more. Some of the highlights include the expansive collection of Louis Vuitton bags, trunks and furniture from The Vuittonier’s Marco Astrologo of Rome, Italy. His fabulous wife Adrienne Astrologo of Lady Bag International will also be there with her amazing collection of Chanel, Prada, Hermes and much more.
I attended Modern Vintage last year, and from the looks of it, they have added even more “oomph” to it this year. Event highlights include:
Saturday, 11am. Enjoy a special address by Chicago’s infamous Fashion Director Nena Ivon, on the history of vintage fashion, in the balcony area. If you don’t know who Ms. Ivon is…you should at least know that she was the longest-serving employee at Saks Fifth Avenue (Chicago), starting as a saleswoman in “debutante sportswear” and working her way up to the esteemed titles of Fashion Directory and Manager of Special Events and Publicity. Ms. Ivon is one of Chicago’s treasured fashion icons.
Saturday, 2-4pm. “Get Styled” by April Francis from Haute Closet.
“This is the perfect girlfriend, boyfriend or personal shopping outing where anyone can come and get incredible head to toe vintage looks, with jewelry, for under $100,” says producer Sally Schwartz. “Our bargain savvy shoppers come early, grab tea or a mimosa, and spend quality time looking for the right pieces to compliment their wardrobes.”
