Ballet is more than just dancers on a stage. It takes a sound crew, directors, clothing designers, choreographers, and many more to put a show together. Rarely do we think of these aspects when viewing a performance.
The New York Theatre Ballet is attempting to close that gap with a new production of three ballets entitled Exquisite Little Ballets. Through this interactive show kids and their parents not only have the opportunity to watch three different dances, but they will be able to mingle with the important behind-the-scenes production crew of the ballet in a fun meet and greet.

Held on April 9 and 10 at the New York Theatre Ballet, the shows includes Antony Tudor’s Little Improvisations, Debut at the Opera (a solo show), and Bounces (a mixture of theater, dance and pantomime) that are ideal for even the smallest children since the shows are short and light. In between the ballets, kids and their families will be able to interact and talk with the company’s lighting designer, costume designer, stage manager, dancers, and shows musicians.
