Eye Candy: The Sweet Spot For Brows and Lashes in San Francisco

Over tweezed and under plucked. Those are not adjectives you would like to describe your current eyebrows. People don’t realize how important the shapes of your eyebrows are to your face. One person in this city does though, Tracy Chavez, the founder and owner of Eye Candy. Since it’s opening in 2008, it has already won the title of SFGate’s #1 Brow Bar in the Bay Area.

When you walk to the mezzanine salon off or Market Street, you enter Tracy’s quaint, cutely decorated space. You instantly feel at home and the excitement of soon becoming more beautiful sets in.  Her salon, befittingly, has more candy than you could ever wish to indulge in. Not only are there sweets, she offers a more grown up indulgence, champagne!

Tracy articulately hand pluck’s every eyebrow hair and perfectly shapes them to your individual face and needs. She also offers other services at Eye Candy include threading, which is an ancient technique for hair removal, which is necessary for any stubborn mustaches or unwanted side burns, eyelash and eyebrow tinting, eyelash perms (for a more dramatic approach, you can have her do eyelash extensions). For any special event you can have her do your make-up or have your own private make-up lesson from Tracy, which is quite the treat, considering you’re learning from someone with 15 years of experience!

Her extensive knowledge for skin care as well as make-up and eyebrows makes Eye Candy a one-stop shop. This is a no wax, no fuss, brow and lash bar. I highly recommend you treat yourself to at least one of her services. Expect to be there for about thirty minutes, depending on what you are having done, and it will be $35 for a brow maintenance (paired with other services, there is a nice discount). She’s open Tuesday through Sunday.
