Washington Ballet’s Runway en Relevé: A Spectacular Beginning to the Holiday Season

Friday, November 12 marked the third installment of The Washington Ballet’s Runway en Relevé at Bloomingdales, Chevy Chase; an evening of fun, flair and fashion.  Chaired by Barbara McConaghy Johnson and Staci Capuano, the duo presented a gorgeous, “Mad Men” inspired collection of very wearable and glamorous outfits for men and women wonderfully selected for the holiday season.

The Washington Ballet’s dancers, Women’s Committee Members, spouses, children, and executive staff simply sparkled as they walked the Bloomingdales runway with style.  My husband admired a white french cuffed shirt by Elie Tahari worn by Winston Bao Lord, and I could have taken home several of the furs worn by Jennifer Streaks, Carole Randolph and Pam Taylor.  My seat-mate, Jeté Society Member Coventry Burke, did just that – she was the raffle winner of a ruffled black knitted mink wrap valued at $1,300!

Other special guest models included ballet dancers Jade Payette, Amanda Cobb, Luis Torres, Elizabeth Gaither, Jonathan Jordan, Sona Kharatia Jordan, Corey Landolt, Brooklyn Mack, Jared Nelson and Morgann Frederick.  Members of the Women’s Committee also walked the runway and included Meredith Cymmerman, Maureen Berk, Stacey Lubar, Farida Wozniak and her daughter Leila, Natasha & Ben Watkins, Phoebe Eliopoulos and her daughters Alexa and Nikki Ciesinski, Shigeko and Tim Bork, our favourite housewife Lynda Erkiletian and her son Sam, Jean-Marie Fernandez, Linda Awkard and her son Eddie Dual, Donna Pitensberger, and Deborah Sigmund.

After the show, guests and models convened upstairs for a lovely French Brasserie supper provided by RSVP Caterering and Women’s Committee Member Charo Abrams.  Paul’s Wine and Spirits provided the wine and overflowing champagne to mark a perfect evening.

The evening was a smashing success, raising much needed financial support for The Washington Ballet.  After an event like this, my only question is, how will they top themselves next year?!
