Sonya Lowery is a long time resident of Maryland, but was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. An entrepreneur since 1999, Lowery has since become an author, speaker, cover model, thrill-seeker, and mom. These experiences have taken her around the world for both business and pleasure, and prepared her for her current role as host of WorldNextDoorTV.com - a 3-minute video series dedicated to unearthing little known “Hot Spots”.

Lowery has spoken to many eager “out-goers” and found that most were looking for clever things to do, new places to eat and new experiences to share. With her quirky idiosyncrasies, Lowery began to compile a list of little-known jewels. This list would be the beginnings of the on-line show that would shed light on the Washington area’s best kept secrets. This web series would become the effort to get people off of their couches, out of their comfort zones, and into discovering the World Next Door.
