Mom’s Tricks for Healthy Halloween Treats

These recipes are so easy to make, and really fun to look at on your Halloween Party table, and work well for adult parties, too.

Carrots, knobby ones work best!
Slivered almonds
2 avocados peeled and seeded
2 tomatoes cut into small bites
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp minced onion
pinch of cayenne pepper
pinch of nut butter

– Mix avocados, tomatoes, lemon juice, onion and pepper together.
– Take 4 long carrots and 1 shorter one (or remove the bottoms to achieve the “finger” length you like) and with a sharp paring knife, carve a location for the almond “nail” to sit.
– Using peanut butter as glue, fasten the slivered almond onto the carrot finger.
– Insert all five fingers into the Guacamole like a hand rising out of “green slime”.

(all organic if possible)
2 cups apple cider
(1 cup vanilla ice cream)
2 tbsp honey
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg

Blend all ingredients in the blender until smooth, makes about 4- 6oz servings
