2010 Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle Expo Recap

Miss A's good friend, CW's Katie Rost interviewing Nigel Barker

Ah, how I love getting press passes!  They really make me feel special.  That’s one reason I was super-excited about attending this event last Saturday so I could get one.  (It’s silly, I know.  But it’s the little things that make me happy!)

I “dragged” my fashion friends downtown from the far reaches of Old Town Alexandria to accompany me to the DC50 Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle Expo at the Washington, DC Convention Center.   When I told them Nigel Barker would be there, it didn’t take too much convincing.  Hello, Hottie!!!  Here is a pic of him being interviewed by the beautiful Katie Rost.

We missed his seminar, unfortunately, but were in time for the book signing.  However, the line was too daunting and we decided to get hair extensions instead.

Holy Hair Extensions!  I’m completely addicted now!

The pink extensions were sold for $10 to support breast cancer research, and they were done by Virage Salon from Springfield, VA.  I am completely hooked and will probably get several of them in the next few weeks.  They’re addictive, I tell you!  I will probably look like the woman in the middle before all is said and done:

We shopped at boutique booths, we got our palms read, we schmoozed with designers Lara Akinsanya of L~Shandi, and Project Runway’s Korto Momolu. Here’s a picture of a dress that we loved, and apparently everyone in the room loved it, too, because it was surrounded by cameras:

Finally, some pictures from the Tashia Senn show.  I loved every minute of it.  The collection is timeless… vibrant… elegant… wearable… and best of all, from DC!

If you missed this event, I would strongly suggest adding it to your mental calendar for next year if you like hair extensions, fashion shows, boutique shopping… hot makeup artists… you get the idea.
