Special Savings on NOVA Fashion Week for AskMissA.com Readers

I wanted to remind readers about NOVA Fashion Week (NOVAFW), which takes place Thursday, October 21st through Sunday, October 24th in Waterfront Park in Old Town Alexandria. This is a great opportunity to not only support  charities such as Susan G. Komen for the Cure, but to support local fashion designers in our area. Fashion is a tough business, and granted local fashion can sometimes be hit or miss, but that is the beauty in local fashion — the discover of raw talent. These fashion designers are both artists and entrepreneurs in the Washington, DC area who need the support of us fashionistas! I highly recommend you buy tickets for some of the shows, and support our local economy and creativity in this region! While you’re in Old Town, be sure to shop the cute boutiques in the Old Town Boutique District, dine in some of the area’s top restaurants like Restaurant Eve, historical monuments such as the George Washington Masonic Memorial, and check out the work of local artists at the old Torpedo Factory.

The event’s proceeds will go to support three amazing charities: The Lupus Foundation of America, Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, and Baby Haven. Several of the designer shows will be hosted by Washington Redskins player DeAngelo Hall, Redskins Cheerleader Chelsea Kay, Angie Goff of WUSA 9 CBS, and Jummy Olabanji of WTKR.

Buy tickets here for the following shows:  Posh Couture, KAS Collection Inc, Tashia Senn, Natalia Sanz, Aidah, Project Runway’s Ra’mon-Lawrence Coleman, Elizabeth St. John, Andrew Harris and fashion label Durkl.
