All Access: Fashion Presented By Tysons Galleria

Friday night at Tysons Galleria was a night to be remembered.  Aba Kwawu of The Aba Agency and Nichole Devolites of Tysons Galleria rocked the house with a seamless presentation of Paul Sinclaire’s Fall 2010/Winter 2011 collection.  Sinclaire, who’s previously worked as a consultant at Christian Dior, Valentino, Trussardi, and Dolce & Gabbana – has teamed up with retail giant Saks Fifth Avenue and is offering a very wearable, ladylike collection of black, white and grey punctuated with splashes of purple, red and blue  – all adorned with a tasteful smattering of ruffles, bows, and sequins.  A 1940’s vibe was felt without being overstated.

Kate Michael, among other tall and leggy models, owned the runway as she strutted to tunes such as Katy Perry’s California Gurls in swingy skirts, well-tailored pants, striped tops, and short dresses all accessorized with large leather Prada bags and shiny black patent peep-toe heels. Those shiny nude platforms of summer were nowhere to be seen.

Dressed in a metallic coffee-coloured mini-dress, blazer, bright gold heels, and her signature mane of fire-engine red hair, Oscar-nominated costume designer, stylist and fashion designer Patricia Field served as guest of honor for the evening.  She offered only one piece of fashion advice to the crowd: “the new shoe is the new shoe” she exclaimed in her sultry voice.

The beneficiary of All Access was SOS Children’s Villages, an international non-profit organization that for the past 60 years has helped children who are orphaned, abandoned or whose families are unable to care for them.  With global ambassadors such as Angelina Jolie, Her Majesty Queen Noor, Djimon Hounsou and others, SOS Children’s Villages is the largest charity dedicated to orphaned and abandoned children with 500 villages in 132 countries worldwide.  A fantastic silent auction was offered during the VIP reception in support of the charity.
