Many of you may have read my articles on my personal experience with the Salahis in Washington, DC’s polo and charity circuits. I haven’t been writing much on the subject lately, as some of my readers are tired of hearing about the Salahis, and quite frankly AskMissA.com isn’t about all this nonsense. I have written about the subject because of my unique experience, and access to this communication platform. My opinion is that the Salahis have shown themselves to be entitled, lazy, lying, social climbing, con artists who use charity fraud to pay for their extravagant lifestyle, while bilking small businesses in the Washington, DC area –pretty much all the things I detest. They lost their credibility a long, long time ago, and I don’t believe a word they say.
A few days ago Guy Friday posted about Michaele Salahi’s exclusive announcement on Fox & Friends where she claimed to have had MS for the past 17 years. Yesterday, Diane Dimond sent me a complimentary media version e-copy of her new book, Cirque Du Salahi – Be Careful Who You Trust. I would never have purchased this book, but since it was emailed to me I decided to take a look.
I think I know why Michaele went public claiming to have had MS for the past 17 years. The Salahis needed a good excuse as to why they left President Obama’s State Dinner. They don’t have a child to rush home to, or family with whom they have any close relationship, so the reason had to be something personal. Most often people support nonprofits to support charities which have a special connection for them, but there are also many people who get involved without such a connection. The Salahis’ nonprofit Journey for the Cure was supposedly to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which Tareq and Michaele DID raise over $150,000 for back in 2002 and the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation to which Journey for the Cure donated $5,000 in 2007. Those I know who knew Michaele when she was involved in supporting the The MS Society’s Ambassadors Ball with in-kind donation of wine tell me that she never once mentioned anything to anyone about having the disease.
Since MS is very difficult to diagnose and there are so many other diseases which mimic its symptoms it would be a better choice to fake than Leukemia. The Salahis couldn’t say that they left the State Dinner because they knew they didn’t have a real invitation, and that there wouldn’t be an assigned seat for them. Remember, they had been thrown out of the Congressional Black Caucus dinner just months before, so they knew very well that with the dinner would come the end to their ridiculous game. Besides, they had the photos that they needed for the America’s Cup of Polo website to make it look like the Salahis had a close relationship with the Indian government and that they were trustworthy people running a legitimate event and charity. Remember the Salahis don’t work for a living — they trade on the implied prestige, legitimacy, wealth and connections that these sort of photos convey. I guess the Salahis’ buddy Carlos Allen who also wasn’t invited to the State Dinner decided to take his changes, and worm his way into sitting at a table.
Diane Dimond uses the MS “hook” as the reason why the Salahis called it an early night, but remember, the Salahis didn’t go home after the State Dinner. Nope, the Salahis went to the Hay-Adams and stiffed the Bartender after the State Dinner. From what I’ve read on the subject, MS attacks don’t come on and last a few hours and go away like a migraine. These come on over the course of days and last for weeks, if not months.
Understandably, the average person can’t fathom that there are con artist out there who would actually lie about suffering from a serious disease, so this move on the Salahis’ part is a great way to garner sympathy, get publicity, and make an excuse for Michaele’s bony figure, even though MS doesn’t cause an anorexic-like appearance. Dr. Lillian Glass, PhD has written a great article on her website analyzing Michaele Salahi’s body language, facial expression and voice pattern from her performance on Fox & Friend which I highly recommend that you read. What Guy Friday and I sensed, Dr. Glass backs up with her in depth knowledge of body language, etc. Another great point from Dr. Glass is that a woman who has lived with MS for 17 years wouldn’t get upset talking about it on TV. I immediately thought of Elizabeth Edwards and her TV appearances. Now there is a woman who has been through hell — medical, and otherwise, and you don’t see her crying.
Here is an excerpt from Dr. Glass’ website:
It was a lot of over the top drama for someone that has allegedly had 17 years to adjust to the disease. All of these histrionics were over the top and no doubt designed to garner sympathy from the viewer. In fact Michael was so “distraught” that she could not even speak.
If someone was suddenly told they had a debilitating disease, I could see them getting choked up or sobbing a bit or getting teary eyed. But she has had 17 years to digest the fact that she has this alleged disease. That certainly is enough time to process what has allegedly happened to her.
So I found her reaction on television where it looked as though she feigned being speechless and choked up, lacking in credibility.
Dr. Glass makes the point that MS might also be used as an excuse to sue NBC Universal for firing Michaele from The Real Housewives of DC show on Bravo, and she’s dead on. Michaele says on Fox that she never went public with the info prior to today because she didn’t want to be judged or “lose her job”. I think this was all set into motion as an excuse so that the Salahis can file wrongful termination charges against NBC Universal. Just wait. The Salahis will not go quietly and will take others down with them. If you think there has been a storm of controversy around them, just wait for the shit storm when Michaele is no longer on Real Housewives! The Salahis are very predictable in that they never make money legitimately, and they are extremely litigious. Why would they change a pattern which has worked so well for so long. They have never been held accountable.
I would urge my readers NOT to purchase Diane Dimond’s book. I’m not sure if she’s just the latest person to be duped by the Salahis, and is therefore supporting them financially and defending them in her book, or if she just has no qualms about making a profit off their continued lies. One aspect that I do agree with Diane Dimond is that the press loves to follow the pied piper. They quickly jumped on the White House Crasher story, and likened them to “Balloon Boy” when those of us in Washington knew that Michaele Salahi was already selected for the TV show. She was not “trying out” — she was already filming at the time of the State Dinner.
Thank goodness for Amy Argetsinger and others at the Washington Post, but I wish more in the media would focus on the serious issues involved here. I would also love to know what authorities in Montgomery County are doing about the Salahis’ $24,000 bounced check. Montgomery County tax payers still need to be reimbursed for $13,000 of liquor the Salahis took from the County for their America’s Cup of Polo event in 2008. And how about the $100,000 grant that the Department of Agriculture gave to the Salahis despite their turning in a plagiarized study? What ever happened with this investigation? Where is the State of Virginia with their investigation into America’s Cup of Polo and Journey for the Cure? I’m not sure why the U.S. Park Police not only gave the Salahis a police escort to Paul Wharton’s birthday party at The Park on one episode of Real Housewives of DC, but felt like they deserved the right and qualified to use the National Mall for their America’s Cup of Polo this past Spring. Like so many others, I do not for the life of me understand how they are still out there getting away with more and more. It’s sickening to me.

An oh-so deep dark secret? FALSE, and one doesn’t require a PHD in human behavior/body language to come to that conclusion.
I understand, of course, Dimond needed a “spin” for her diatribe, and the Salahis more than delivered that in terms of the MS story. From those whom have read the book [Like Miss A, I refuse to spend my money on it], it appears Dimond did perform at least some background research as to the legitimacy of the MS “diagnosis” claim. And that claim, true or false, is largely irrelevant, given the “hook”.
The “hook” to get people to buy the book and attempt to explain the couple’s admittedly bizarre and for that matter inexplicable behavior/deceit was their utmost and paramount concern to keep that a oh-so deep dark “secret” from everyone, including family, and most certainly the public.
But therein lies the problem, an insurmountable problem; and, therefore, that hook must fail, because the documented facts speak for themselves and speak decidedly differently. Specifically, the Salahis publicly traded upon Michaele’s purported MS “diagnosis” for years to garner support for their very questionable and now-defunct charity.
Since Dimond appeared on national television with the Salahis indicating this was some personal 17 year “secret”, and it is my understanding the book at least implies that as well, I will give her the very generous benefit of the doubt and assume she did not realize that simply was not true. Why she did not discover that falsehood prior to becoming a perhaps duped participant in the Salahis’ continuing charade quite frankly escapes me, but it certainly does not reflect well upon her self-proclaimed skills as an “investigative reporter”.
I submit the real hook here actually was dangled by the Salahis in front of Dimond, and she apparently swallowed it hook, line and sinker, as they saying goes.
In retrospect, I suppose, Dimond’s choice of a subtitle, “Be Careful Who You Trust”, was quite prophetic in a sense for her.
And, in that respect, I must admit, the Salahis seem to be very adept at what appears to be the only thing they do to support themselves.
Just my opinions.
I can’t see how they can sue anyone if they can’t find an attorney that really wants to make money. Unless it’s one that’s hoping on making a name on tabloid TV. This is like handling the case of the Washington Sniper, not a great one for your career and reputation.
And as far as them having to leave the White House to run to the bar at the Hay Adams, that speaks volumes. If in fact you were invited, which would you do, stay for the dinner or run to a nearby hotel bar. They have open bars at the State dinners and the White House physician is there as well for medical problems. So the only reason must be that someone started asking questions and the left before getting caught. I can tell you personally, that night when they came through the door, Roxanne Roberts of the Washington Post recognized them for who they are and began questioning staff. Michaele wanted to stop for more photos as her husband was trying to move along and avoid the press he didn’t know was there to ask question and document them coming in. She began to love it and pull him back for more. She didn’t seem to be having an MS moment then.
Wow. What a convoluted and tortured mental exercise you’ve displayed here!
I feel very sorry for you. Your lack of empathy is astounding for your fellow man. Some day you will need some compassion and I wonder if anyone will be there for you?
Does anyone out there reading this realize that YOU felt you were the perfect candidate to be chosen for this “Real Housewives of DC ” program and when you were overlooked you took off on this perpetual diatribe against others? Or maybe you were just not raised by a compassionate Mother who told you if you didn’t have anything good to say about someone then you shouldn’t say anything….?
Your continuous hatefulness toward everyone who isn’t YOU is sickening. You should be ashamed of yourself.
When Michaele is in a wheelchair is THAT when you will admit she suffers from what her doctor told me was 17 long years of a life threatening disease? Did you bother to learn what happened to Michaele when the stress of the scandal forced her into a hospital and the doctor there FELT LIKE YOU DO – and tossed her out?
Oh – I forgot – you never bothered to read the book. No. that would be too taxing on your little brain.
Again, I feel very sorry for you. You may feel all smug in your opinions now…but believe me – you’ll be proven wrong. Then will you admit it? I doubt it. No one with a tiny mind ever asks forgiveness.
I don’t understand the reason for the vitriol from Ms. Dimond. I understand Andrea’s perspective, although I do think it’s a bit much.
Ms. Dimond, you state, “Did you bother to learn what happened to Michaele when the stress of the scandal forced her into a hospital and the doctor there FELT LIKE YOU DO – and tossed her out?”
Many people in the Washington, DC area, as well as those who watch the RHofDC show, believe nothing that comes out of Michaele or Tareq’s mouth. IF Michaele does suffer from MS, I feel sympathetic for her. However, she and her husband’s repeated lies have caused no one to believe them. It’s fine for her to cry on TV and for Tareq to say they are a target because of their wealth and celebrity, but it’s become the story of the boy who cried wolf. They have lied to and conned so many people that no one believes them anymore.
Side note–there are quite a few grammatical errors in this post (not to mention others). I thought an editor was hired for AskMissA.com?
Ms. Diamond, you’ve been duped! I’d like to thank Andrea Rodgers for staying on top of this story and leading true journalists in the right direction. The Salahis are the biggest scam artists on earth! You must not have done enough digging, or you were in their pocket all along. I seriously doubt Michaele has had MS for over 17 years. Who is her doctor? This miracle worker should be noted, because most people with MS for this duration of time would show clear signs of the disease. She would be on steroids which would make her look bloated, not anorexic. Why is she eating such a poor diet, as she bragged to In Touch Weekly? Seriously, hot chocolate and Lucky Charms cereal for breakfast, no lunch, and a chicken breast and salad for dinner is not the proper diet for someone in her health condition? OK, say she has MS, does that excuse such bad behavior? Are people stupid enough to fall for this? Thanks to Andrea Rodgers for reminding everyone of the numerous investigations… from what I understand there are many more. Hopefully by the end of the RHoDC season, they’ll be booted off the show and out of the limelight they so desperately seek.
Diane:
I have chosen to believe that Michaele does have MS or at least that she believes she does. It’s a very difficult disease to diagnose, especially in the early stages. Or she might have some other disease that manifests in ways similar to MS.
My ex-wife has one of those rare nerve diseases, and I played a role very similar to the one you ascribe to Tareq in your book. Like Michaele she is beautiful, slender and prone to drama — and often people don’t believe her when she experiences flares. So I am willing to give Michaele the benefit of the doubt on this, especially since you spoke to her doctor.
But what you don’t seem to get is that the problem here is not a general lack of compassion. The people who don‘t believe Michaele are responding to an extraordinary series of lies and out-and-out acts of fraud she and Tareq have committed over the last 3 years or more. Lies so outrageous and so easily proven false that you can’t believe anyone would say them out loud.
As others have said, it is the case of the boy who cried wolf. The last time, there really was a wolf. Unfortunately the boy had already spent all his credibility on the “pay attention to me” false alarms. That’s how it works in real life. You are judged by your prior acts. Hello.
The Salahis lie like the rest of us breathe air. You can quibble with any one of the lies. But how, as an experienced reporter, can you dismiss a pattern as consistent and as well-documented as theirs?
There’s something fishy about your role in this. I just can’t figure out what it is.
I suspect Ms. Dimond thought she found what was going to be the perfect spin that she expected was going to redeem this frankly unredeemable couple; thereby resulting in substantial purchasers of her “book”. A book, by the way, which Missy claimed on her website “will be Biblical”. I am not making that up.
The only thing that diatribe called a “book” has in common with the Bible is both words start with a “b”.
In her rant to Miss A, Ms. Dimond reminds me of my daughter when she was about 2 to 3 years of age.
I would spin a top for her.
It would spin perfectly for maybe a minute. She would giggle with glee.
Then it would start to wobble. She would fret.
Then it would just topple over. She would cry.
She just couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t keep spinning, and expected Daddy to make it all better. But, then again, she was only a very small child.
Dimond’s spin on the Salahis lasted all of about a minute as well. She apparently just can’t fathom her spin must fail, just like my daughter’s top.
And she misses altogether the important point. NOT whether Missy was ever “diagnosed” with MS; I find that question and the answer thereto largely irrelevant.
Rather, the relevant inquiry is Dimond’s and the Salahis’ lack of credibility as to their claim that purported “diagnosis” was some closely-guarded secret never shared with anyone out of some unknown and unfounded fear of embarrassment for Missy.
But it doesn’t stop there: Then Dimond uses that oh-so deep, dark, personally-held “secret” as an excuse for the Salahis’ seemingly inexcusable behavior.
And that’s what shoves the top totally off the table and onto the floor and far under the couch. Because the facts, which Dimond chose to either ignore or not “investigate” clearly show otherwise.
FACT: Missy’s MS “diagnosis” was utilized to promote the Salahis’ very questionable charity for years, so it hardly qualified as a “17 year secret”, much less a “secret” warranting the obviously staged breakdown and non-existent tears of Missy on national television.
Contrary to what Dimond and the Salahis may think, most people really are not that stupid.
I’m beginning to think Ms. Dimond just might be as delusional as the subjects of her diatribe.
My opinion.
@Paladin
DITTO!
Suzanna:
Thank you for your vote of support, so to speak.
But the sad part, the really sad part, and the bigger issue here regarding the latest chapter in this sordid story is [and it pains me to utilize a "Palanism", but I must], none of the “main stream media”, including the Washington Post, has picked up or reported on this obvious fraud; but instead have simply repeated the purported bombshell “secret” shared by Ms. Dimond and the Salahis on national television a week ago.
Simple repetition by the press made apparently without ever checking to confirm the accuracy of the claim of its true “secrecy”. Fact-checking which, I might add, with only 5 minutes, at most, at a keyboard, would have revealed it was absolutely bogus.
Doesn’t say a whole lot for the diligence of so-called reporters, now does it?
Novamediawatch.com recently opined that the accuracy of the “news” of late increasingly falls to the responsibility of readers. I think that blog just might have a very important observation.
Too bad, I suppose, because with the advent of the information superhighway, one would tend to think the first line of defense in terms of fact-checking would actually be the reporters themselves. It is not that difficult, and hardly takes a degree in journalism.
I submit that time nowadays, it no longer takes a grizzled old chain-smoking reporter in a fedora and crumpled trench coat meeting someone in a dark parking garage to confirm facts that are readily available by mere keystrokes.
Go figure.
My mother was diagnosed with MS in 2005. She has a very slow progressive form of the disease that the Neurologist believes she had for 20 years, but finally manifested itself in a vision issue which led to test which was diagnosed with MS. My mom presented with lesions on her brain scan and also had a spinal tap in the hospital – where she was for a week on a dose of steroids. She is now on an interferon injections treatment as well as special B vitamin medical food suppliments and a Super D.
Honestly – I cannot believe anyone diagnosed with MS is not on some form of treatment…including just a special vitamin therapy. Most people with MS have low B and D vitamin levels. I’m calling bullshit on Missy S. She is a famewhore slut.
I noticed a few people have latched on the hospitalization anecdote above as proof that a doctor treated Michaele and didn’t buy her MS diagnosis.
She was hospitalized overnight for a severe urinary tract infection. According to the Salahis’ witness, this occurred just after the WH dinner. When the hospital staff recognized who she was, they allegedly discharged her abruptly in the middle of the night. No doubt the hospital has a different tale to tell. But that’s what Dimond reported in the book.
The only connection to multiple sclerosis is that the Salahis believe her immune system is vulnerable to infection due to the MS.
[...] posted a ‘smackdown’ comment of DC socialite blogger Andrea Rodgers at Andrea’s Ask Miss A website. Diane posted the comment on Andrea’s Diane Dimond’s Cirque du Salahi and Michaele’s MS [...]
Now just how did Ms. Salahi perform all those difficult cheerleading stunts while suffering (silently) with MS? I go with Tim Gunn on these folks: SOCIOPATHS. Diane Dimond should be a little more savvy to that “condition” seeing all the crime she’s covered. For me, though, I never underestimate the manipulative power of a sociopath. That’s how they survive in the world and are always one step ahead of a person with a conscience.
I feel sorry for YOU Ms Dimond.
I don’t believe Diane just suddenly decided to write a book about the Salahi’s. To me it smacks of the grifters hiring Diane as their spin-doctor….hence the book.
To Diane Dimond:
When are you going to answer the question: Why did poor Michaele, suffering an attack of MS (or was it PMS), leave the White House and run to the nearest bar?
Come on, I need a good laugh. Do your best to explain this.
I, for one, can’t wait until the Salahi’s sue NBC Universal for Wrongful Termination from DC Housewives. That stunt should end during the discovery process when the 17 yrs of documentation from the ‘Doc’ is uncovered. Would be a pretty thick file don’t you think? Can’t wait to see the qualifications of her medical ‘professional’. I would imagine that there would be other ‘Docs’ involved for such serious diseases during that time period as well don’t you?
It would not surprise me if the Salahi’s were stupid enough and classless enough to fake an illness in hopes of swaying folks over to their side (grade school behavior). They were stupid and classless enough to embarrass themselves by signing up for DC Housewives. It is beyond me why anyone who has watched that franchise for the last 3 or 4 years would even want to be on the show? Most of the women on those shows end up embarrassing themselves or being shown for who they really are. I’m always amazed that the NY and DC Housewives are presented as Society in those cities. Lord help us.
As for Ms. Dimond, she purports that people who don’t buy into the Salahi’s newest episode have no empathy. Dimond states in her reply “I feel very sorry for you. Your lack of empathy is astounding for your fellow man. Some day you will need some compassion and I wonder if anyone will be there for you… Or maybe you were just not raised by a compassionate Mother who told you if you didn’t have anything good to say about someone then you shouldn’t say anything….? Your continuous hatefulness toward everyone who isn’t YOU is sickening. You should be ashamed of yourself.”
Gee what message did Diane’s Mother give her? I mean look at the business she chose to get into. Show Biz gossip which, as we know, is seldom flattering.
Gosh, here’s just ONE example of Diane’s empathy or “If you don’t have anything good to say about someone don’t say anything at all” philosophy. From the New York Times arts section 8/31/05(http://nyti.ms/avGA3k) about Dimond being first to break the news about the Michael Jackson molestation RUMORS. She sure seemed pro-prosecution before the trial ever took place and even after Jackson was acquitted in that trial she was instrumental in keeping those rumors alive for a decade. Then in ’93 she uncovered another RUMOR of Jackson involved in another inappropriate relationship with a young boy. She did it again in 2003. It’s all in the article linked above. After all of that Dimond secured a contract with Simon & Schuster to write an account of Mr. Jackson’s legal battles from 1993 until now, to be called “Be Careful Who You Love: Inside the Michael Jackson Case.”
Anyone who dogged a human being relentlessly for almost 20 years and kept nasty unproven rumors alive really hasn’t earned the right to chastise the Salahi disbelievers and tell us that “No one with a tiny mind ever asks forgiveness.” Hummm Diane – sounds like you are well acquainted with a tiny mind.
I was diagnosed with MS in 2004. My first flair was Retro Bulbar Neuritis. At the time my son was 2 and I thought that the world was ending. The doctors did a spinal tap and I was on IV steroids for a week! Since then I have had several flairs starting out slow(exacerbation) leading to the latest losing the feeling in my hands or feet. I have broken 2 fingers, cut 2 fingers broken 2 toes from not being able to feel them! I am APPALLED!! I am on constant meds vitamins and weekly shots, and I CANNOT lose weight because the steroids will not allow it! I DO NOT believe that Michaele has MS!! If I am wrong than of course I will apologize as someone who ACTUALLY suffers from this disease! FYI When I found out in 2004 I cried like a baby, but now it’s part of life, and if my story helps one of my friends or family cope then I tell them we are fighters and I haven’t cried about having MS in years. Just the opinion of an ordinary housewife who happens to suffer from MS and sees BS when it’s put in front of her
Thank you for listening to my humble thoughts
K
I would love to see Joan’s question answered by Ms. Diamond… I have no doubt Ms. Diamond is their spin doctor.
The problem with the Salahis is that when caught up in one lie, people will not trust you anymore. So even if Michaele does have this debilitating disease, people are obviously skeptic. Some medical proof would be necessary.
As for Andrea’s desire to be in the RHODC, I really think it would have been a better choice than the Salahis. She’s beautiful, a Washington insider and in search for love-all great ingredients for a reality show. Some drama is good, but outright lies and dishonest behavior?
Iwas just diagnosed with MS this past May. I began with numbness in my rt. hand. After 3 MRI’s and a spinal tap my world was changed forever. The numbness has spread to both hands and feet,I have trouble with my balance, trouble swallowing and drop things all day long. I haven’t read the book so I,m wondering what kind of therpy shes on. I have to give myself an injection everyday because there is no oral medication. I feel sorry for anyone thatfeels as if they have to lie just to get sympathy and celebrity. Plus Karma is such a bitch!
Dear Diane Dimond,
I assure you there is no one here who shares your twisted opinion. Just by reading your comments toward Andrea Rodgers, one can tell what a nasty, wicked women you are inside. Birds of a same feather, you and the Salahis go well together.
Well, Ms. Dimond strikes again with the nasty rebuttal. I have never seen an author on a review for site put snide remarks when the reviewer wrote a negative review. Ms. Dimond put a cut and paste acid remark on several reviews on Amazon. They have since been REMOVED when several readers made comments about the immature posts of Ms. Dimond, myself included. ALL of these remarks have been removed. This Ms. Dimond is certainly NOT professional. I had, frankly, never heard of this woman until this book, since I do not watch or read the tabloid shows/magazines. But now that I have seen her immature and acid responses to negative write ups, I would NEVER read a thing she writes from this day forward. I never had intentions of PAYING for this book, nor interested in the lies this couple continuially make. I, too, am amazed at what they have and still get away with. Taking the 5th at the hearing is now being blamed on Bravo. LOL Bravo has issued a statement and said no way did they ever tell them not to discuss the WH incident. I have absolutely NO respect for this Ms. Dimone now, nor for Lisa Bloom for even asscociating and defending these people. Shame on them both.
BTW the claim that MS was kept a secret until the book disclosed it, is another lie. A video on YOUTUBE, the narrative for the video, posted in Nov, 2009 CLEARLY says the she had MS and that their charity gives to the MS orginizations. I am pretty shocked that an “investigative reporter” did not know that. They even went on FOX and FRIENDS, along with Ms Dimond and told that lie on national tv.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0Vq_cCOqpg
Read the narrative below the video.
Wow Ms. Dimond,
Your remarks in your above post are clearly unprofessional and expose your inability to keep your emotions at bay when hearing criticism. You do yourself and your business a great disservice in that regard.
Maybe send her a private email with your rant instead of letting prospective buyers of your book get glimpse at your unprofessional behavior, which then ends up being one more lost book sale for you.
Lori Gunther – good find, good post, good reporting. Cheers.
The Salahi’s have been sued several times and they have lost so in other words have been ordered by date to pay hundred of thousands of dollars. And they threaten to sue people that is a joke. Maybe if they win a case the person held responsible to pay them (lets hope that never happens) maybe that person can play the games with them that the Salahi’s play with people. So how do you explain that one Ns. Diamond. I really like you until u fell for their RIDICULOUS lies. How about Tareq thinking he could give a FAKE Rolex in lue of a judgment? How do u explain that Ms. Diamond. No I will NEVER BUY THAT GARBAGE U WROTE. Have u ever asked Michale what she was really looking for in the limo on the night THEY CRASHED THE WHITE HOUSE? Ms. Diamond you are fighting in a war that you will never win . Every day you make your self look more like an “ASS” than what you already are. YOUR SCUM just like THE SALAHI’S. Im so glad to see you visit this page.. As Cat sais the only word spell that comes up is on Salahi’s and it comes up as Salami, there is justice after all.
“When Michaele is in a wheelchair is THAT when you will admit she suffers from what her doctor told me was 17 long years of a life threatening disease?”
It’s ignorant comments like this one (from Dimond’s post above) that fry me the most about Ms. Salahi’s MS claim. People who genuinely suffer from MS don’t need misinformation about the disease trumpeted throughout the media. I have MS and, similar to some of the other posts here, the diagnosis was long in coming and a difficult diagnosis. My MS presented with Optic Nueritis and it was another year after that before my diagnosis was firm. There are several different kinds of MS, Relapsing/Remitting being the most common, and those who have it RARELY end up in wheelchairs. Ms. Dimond’s suggestion that those who disbelieve Salahi’s claim will be sorry when she ends up in a wheelchair makes me sick.
There is NO WAY someone could keep MS a secret for 17 years, no matter how mild the symptoms. My friends and family noticed something was wrong with me a full 2 years before I got diagnosed. Those who REALLY suffer from MS are on treatment. Daily, weekly or bi-monthly injections (depending on your choice of meds) and bags of steroids administered in infusion centers are the norm for flare-ups.
Ms. Dimond, investigative reporter, get your facts straight please. First and foremost, MS is NOT a life threatening disease. People who GENUINELY have MS cannot go without treatment, or keep it a secret, for 17 years. MS does not cause weight loss. Most MS sufferers do not and up in wheelchairs unless they suffer from Primary Progressive MS which is the rarest form. Coincidentally, that’s what I have. It took me 3 years to require a cane and I still may never need a wheelchair. My gut tells me that Ms. Salahi will never need one either.
Another thing, MS episodes do come on from stress but they don’t resolve in a matter of a few hours. And they don’t come on suddenly. Or conveniently, like when it’s time to sit down for dinner and you know there is no place setting for you so you need to either skeedaddle out of the White House or start serving salads. MS episodes take days to develop and take days to resolve. Read up on the disease before you jump to defend Ms. Salahi’s claim. Stop trying to generate sympathy for a woman who is clearly a known liar with your uninformed notions about MS. MS sufferers need research money, emotional support from our friends and families, and a cure. We don’t need your sympathy, we don’t need your notions that our lives are threatened and our futures are wheelchairs, and the last thing we need is Michaele Salahi for a poster child.
Their demeanor is no different than the “I almost got away with it” tv series. Con artists, who fake illnesses, influence, and lifestyle. Whatever it takes to get whatever they want. Miss Dimond is attempting to protect her reputation by standing by her book. Perhaps they conned her too.
What cracks me up is the sub-title.
How sickly ironic coming from a demented woman who escorted the evil Ssseddon to Neverland ranch & who fabricated evidence to do anything he could to demean Michael Jackson. Diane Deamon, as she’s better known these days, is a manipulative and down-right mean person who is greatly responsible for the distorted image of Mr. Jackson. Her commentary about MJ has been absolutely disgraceful based upon falsehoods. As far as I’m concerned nothing she has to say or write is credible. Hence, the irony of this sub-title will come back to bite her as the actual facts & truth about MJ is being re-exposed. I e-mailed her twice last year, for the 1rst & last time; she can dish it out but she can’t take it.
sorry for typos.
By the way, Miss A, thank you for also standing up to this sorry excuse for a journalist/writer.
Lack of integrity in journalism has gone way too far.
I don’t know what DD’s problem is; if she craves attention or fame or just gets off on being deceitful, but I wouldn’t attempt to diagnose her with a 10′pole.
What MS drug therapy is Ms. Salahi currently on? What test were used to diagnose the MS? What “diet” do the MS books suggest? Why did she keep it a secret? Why was MS only the focus of your “charity” once?
I have MS. It won’t be hard to get to the truth.
Diane Dimond may be desperate for money, as desperate as the Salahis, and they all teamed up.
I watched the Bravo episode and found it strange. Michaele was absolutely fine and full of energy in the salon while dressing for the Whitehouse dinner. Same in the limo driving there. Next, posing and beaming joyfully for the cameras as she walked in.
How could she so suddenly – within such a short time – come down with an MS episode so debilitating that she had to run out from such a big occasion, EXACTLY when seating began? … And ran to the nearest bar where she miraculously recovered and was able to hang out for a few hours?
Then we again see them on Bravo tape later that night (or early morning), posting their photos and laughing, saying they “were too excited to sleep”. Again, she was fine, full of energy and very very happy.
I think it’s criminal and sad that Michaele Salahi would hide behind MS and use it as the cover for leaving the Whitehouse State dinner when the real reason was evident. There were no seats for them, and they KNEW that. Why? because they knew they weren’t invited.
And now we’re subjected to the confession/ deflection strategy and the 5-second-phony crying jags on TV. It’s just sad. There should be a law against this.
Mrs. Salahi is, as far as I can see, the ONLY LADY of the housewives, which that name in itself is something to be snickered at….I do not think I’ve heard her be disrespectful, spiteful and just downright MEAN and UGLY to any of those “so called housewives”….Would love to meet her
I a surprised that DD would go off in such a manner. It was a childish response and does damage only to herself..
The Salahi’s past has left them with no reputation other than they can not be trusted. You can’t blame anyone for their doubts under the circumstances. I think they do more Damage for MS since linking them to any charity makes for questions about it’s legitimacy.
I was insulted by the the comments made that anyone that doesn’t care for Michelle Salahi is either Jealous or mean. I admit she is an attractive woman but so are many others. Beyond that what is there to this woman.I have read her Bio and it is sad that most of it is fabrication. My life might not be in the public eye but it is real. I for on appreciate Ms Rodgers effort to expose the Salahis in hopes it will protect the public. Had DD’s book done the same it might have been worth reading.
Diane Dimond may have drank the entire bottle of Kool-Aid provided by the Salahi’s but the American people who felt humiliated for our country after their stunt aren’t nearly as thirsty as she seems to be. Anyone who has followed this story, the numerous law suits against them and their LOSING ALL OF THEM for debts not paid means there’s something pretty unscrupulous about these two. Let’s not even talk about this husband who has driven a profitable winery into the ground, tossing a drink in a woman’s face ( I would have dropped him where he stood if I saw that, even if I didn’t know him), how about the turning over to a judge a watch he knew was a fake to pay off a debt? (and no Ms. Dimond, don’t even try to tell me he didn’t know it was a fake). He was asked to resign his position with the state tourism board of Va, and countless other accusations that follow these two, yet all of these accusations all are misunderstandings on the part of someone else if you listen to him. They’re so misunderstood, it’s everyone else who is to blame, they are merely victims, that’s quite a coincidence don’t you think? Sure, I’ll believe that when I grow hair on my palms. What these two resemble is PIGPEN from the comic Peanuts; dirt follows them wherever they go.
I, for one, will be glad when the Salahis finally dissolve into obscurity. Ms. Dimond, I truly hope you fact-checked your book prior to publishing and that this fact-checking was done with someone other than the Salahis. They have destroyed the family business, running his parents into bankruptcy and ruin. They are sick, sick people in need of serious psychological counseling and hospitalization. Empathy for a lie about MS? Where is your empathy for the people who truly suffer from the disease and are mocked by the actions of Michaela? Are you kidding? Get off your damned high horse and look around — you’ve been conned. You’ve written a book, taking the side of two of the biggest swindlers in Virginia (if not U.S.) history. Your career may never recover once the truth leaks out.
