Denver’s Chalk it Up to Education Art Festival: Chalk it up to a Great Weekend

Street painting festivals have been an Italian tradition for many years. This year, street painting is coming to Denver for one special weekend. The Arapahoe Community College Foundation is hosting the Chalk it up to Education Art Festival on Saturday, September 11th. The event will be held at the Arapahoe Community College Main Campus from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is free of charge. Live bands will start performing at 11 p.m. and vendors will be selling food and handmade art throughout the day.

The foundation plans to have about 25 chalk artists participating at all levels. This includes ACC students, amateurs and four featured professionals. All of these participants will be competing for prizes, so expect to see some great pieces of art! There will be plenty of entertainment for kids in the Interactive Chalk Art area. Kids and their parents will be able to let their imaginations run wild and create their own pieces of chalk art.

A VIP reception will be held the day before the festival at 5 p.m. in the Arapahoe Community College South Commons Patio. If you wish to further support the Arapahoe Community College Foundation, tickets are available for $25 and can be purchased here. You will get the opportunity to mingle with the featured artists and other important guests. Refreshments will be available and all proceeds go towards student scholarships and college programs.

The Arapahoe Community College main campus is located in South Metropolitan Denver at 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive.
