You may have seen that Black Voices covered my “beef” with Howard Cromwell, Publisher of DC’s Most Fabulous Magazine (actual name of the website — not my opinion of it). They compared our feud to Jay-Z and NAS. I have no feud with Mr. Cromwell. My feud is with the Salahis. I know that the Salahis are behind this event and stand to gain from it’s deception. Mr. Cromwell just got a bit too close to my cross hairs. I am outraged that DC’s Most Fabulous Magazine is selling tickets for $25 – $500, and sponsorships for $3K-$15K!
The public has been misled and so people are buying tickets to the party thinking the cast of Real Housewives of DC and even cast from other Real Housewives shows will all be there. The public needs to be warned and protected. Just like the Queen of England, Prince Charles and Prince William never showed up for America’s Cup of Polo in 2007, none of the cast will show up at this fake premiere party. The REAL premiere party is being hosted by Washington Life Magazine, which is DC’s most fabulous magazine at the Buddah Bar. The production company, Halfyard Productions will also host an event at a hotel downtown. I won’t be at either party. I’ll be home watching the show, tweeting and blogging to give you my take as it happens!
You may have seen all comment section on Guest of a Guest, and AskMissA.com, but these people are only trying to confuse the situation. My facts are correct — Dab the AIDS Bear Project is not a 501(c)3. On the website it says that it’s part of the DAB Foundation, a private real estate development company in Florida. The event is a complete sham. I will keep reporting on this until government authorities step up and do something to protect consumers from the Salahis’ M.O. of charity fraud, and deception. Save your money, people!

Most of the people I knew back when I did this sort of thing know about the problems with the polo matter. One day, we all got this mass email that basically stated that your management was discontinued. I think when the dust settled, we all saw it for what it was; all you had to do was read the fine print and then track it to the organizations that the monies were going to. Damn shame too.
I bought a ticket thinking all the Real Housewives of DC and other cities are going to be there. Their ads with the RHs of DC photos and Bravo’s logos made me believe it was legit. I should have realized it was a scam if Michaele is the host. These people have no morals and have ripped off so many people in DC. I should have known better, but I wanted to meet the other ladies. I am asking for my money back and going to the Buddah Bar instead.
Julia:
Sorry you apparently were scammed, as the Salahis have scammed so many unsuspecting sould in the past.
But you need to read anything associated with the Salahis very, very carefully.
Saying someone or many people are or have been “invited” really doesn’t mean diddly.
They did the same thing with their 2010 America’s Polo Cup, proclaiming recording stars were “invited” to perform.
Well, you know what? I could “invite” the Pope to a picnic at my home this weekend– but it doesn’t mean he is going to show up.
By the way, Julia, don’t feel bad that you might have been snookered. The Salahis have been doing this for years, not just recently, and they are quite good at it.
In 2007, Tareq publicly proclaimed that their America’s Polo Cup was so very pleased to have “invited honored guests”, including the Queen of England and President George W. Bush. That’s probably how they managed to squeeze $100K+ from the Loudoun County [VA] government at that time.
I suppose it’s no surprise those “invited” guests didn’t appear. And, needless to say, there were a lot of disappointed people, not the least of which was the caterer that was never paid to the tune of $300K.
By the way, I’ve “invited” the Obamas, Mick Jagger, Willie Nelson and the Queen of England for dinner at my house tomorrow.

wow this site is wealth of information
Additionally, I’m troubled that an organization would have the nerve to raise money for AIDS for another state when DC has one of the worst rates of HIV/AIDS infection in the nation… after all it is called the Real Housewives of DC, why would you raise money for Florida???
What a sham!
YES, we too bought tickets thinking other DC Housewives would be there. It was basically a waste of money. There was next to no organization, no one seemed to know what was going on. People who paid the mid-level of VIP got totally scammed. There were hardly any appetizers, and the bar ran out of champagne flutes. I was sorry we wasted our time and money and we most certainly will never attend or contribute any money to anything with the Salahi’s or Mr Cromwell’s name on them.
How can you stiff a caterer out of $300,000 and get away with it!!! Trouble is Bravo and other entertainment media are now creating a facade of social status the allows these criminal enterprises to continue. Talk about aiding and abeiting? The real story that needs to be exposed are the lawsuits, charity frauds, etc. Why no prosecutions?
Question is…will the next Americas Polo Cup 2011 event, US vs. Costa Rica, be tied to a new charity? Wasn’t this the incentive for big name sponsors like Land Rover, Cartier and St. Regis Hotels (to name a few). Many, including the ones mentioned, have redrawn sponsorship, so what incentive is there to lend sponsorship to a mere “goat rodeo”, especially with the Salahis reputation catching up to them (non-payment of vendors, stiffing an Aspen Polo Club out of a $19,000 entrance fee and PR lies and warning from Virginia, for example).
