As usual, I am always looking for new, interesting ways to enjoy Chicago. This week, I stumbled upon HamBINGO Mary’s and felt obliged to share the good news. I am sure you are wondering- what in the world is HamBINGO? Let me break it down for you,

a. Where can I go for drag queen entertainment in Chicago?
b. Where can I mingle with other cool peeps and play Bingo for shots (not money) on a Monday evening?
c. Is there some way I can contribute to a good cause while I am simply out having a good time?

Or, maybe you never asked yourself these questions at all! Either way, HamBINGO Mary’s looks like a cool way to give back to charity, while having fun and spending your Monday evening in a way that most folks wouldn’t even fathom. With that being said, here is the scoop:
Drag Queen Bingo Supports a Good Cause
HamBINGO Mary’s is a weekly bingo night, that donates 100% of its proceeds to a different charitable organization each week. Hosted by drag diva Velicity Metropolis, the restaurant warns that “this is NOT your typical church basement bingo…and that the show can get a little risque.” The suggested donation is $5 per Bingo card and you can play as many cards as you like. HamBINGO Mary’s also features specialty shots and drink specials that benefit the charity as well. A different charity is featured every week, ranging from animal rescue shelters to HIV/AIDS Organizations. Join the email list if you would like to know what the Charity of the Week will be. HamBINGO Mary’s takes place every Monday night at 8pm. The games run approximately two hours.
