The Front Row: A Fashionable Night in Bethesda!

My favorite piece from Urban Chic.

While Bethesda Row may not be Bryant Park, it was home to a fantastic outdoor fashion show on Friday night. Stores such as Urban Chic, Ginger, Luna, and Wear it Well showcased the best of summer trends 2010. Front row fixture and star of the TV show High Society, Tinsley Mortimer, and Project Runway contestant, Laura Bennett, were both in attendance.

Mortimer sported these six inch stilettos!!

Mortimer was spotted wearing the most amazing (and gravity defying) Fendi shoes.  They have a two inch lucite platform which is a major trend for summer. I was apprehensive about any kind of lucite footwear, but even I have come to embrace it!
Bennett wore a gorgeous silver sequin tank dress from her own line. She was signing copies of her book Didn’t I Feed You Yesterday? A Mother’s Guide to Sanity in Stilettos. While I am not a mother, I have found the book to be a cute and amusing read.

Military and Nautical trends are here to stay, and the show featured two perfect examples of these looks. First, my favorite, a sequin military inspired Alice + Olivia dress from Urban Chic. I love the mixture of dressy sequins with the army green skirt with flirty ruffle.

Ginger had a nautical look perfect for a day in Georgetown or on a yacht! A functional navy blazer by Liquid paired with crisp white shorts by Skirtin Around. This look can be worn into night with a pair of strappy metallic shoes and chunky gold bangles.

Keep cool this summer in military and nautical trends, and always stay fashionable and fabulous!
