How does one look chic in the winter months? It can be quite a challenge for those living in an especially cold climate. Between layers of sweaters, scarves, and coats, one can easily feel (and look) more Michelin Man than modern mademoiselle. Thankfully Shaun Kearney’s latest collection for Cynthia Steffe offers both fashion and function for days when temperatures are falling fast.
The Cynthia Steffe fall 2010 collection (which was recently presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York) was a little 60s, a little sexy schoolgirl, and a little arty ingénue. Hemlines were short, socks were long, and textures—wool, leather, and fur—were plentiful. The collection, in rich creams, browns, and greys, looks extremely wearable off the runway. In fact, with all the scrumptious pieces being shown for fall, it has me thinking that fast-forwarding past spring and summer isn’t such a bad idea.
