Date Night at ZooLights

 

 

Stroll with your sweetheart through the magical winter wonderland when the National Zoo transforms into ZooLights! The National Zoo presents a display of thousands of sparkling lights featuring sculptures of many of the Zoo’s most popular animals, including giant pandas, Asian elephants, gibbons, a sea lion, an octopus, and a Komodo dragon. Visitors at ZooLights will enjoy winter-themed crafts, ice sculpting demonstrations, choral groups, and storytellers.

Yours to share as you take in the sights of ZooLights are:

Bring along your camera to savor your last moments with Tai Shan, the Zoo’s baby panda, before he returns to China in early 2010.

ZooLights
People of all ages and stages will enjoy ZooLights, the National Zoo’s 3rd annual winter celebration, December 4-13 (Friday through Sunday nights) and December 18-January 2 (every night except Dec. 24, 25, and 31) from 6-8:30 p.m. ZooLights features dazzling light sculptures, keeper talks, strolling musicians, costumed characters, and other live entertainment. Special activities and giveaways are planned for Dec. 18 (Date Night), Dec. 19 (SunTrust Night), and Dec. 26 (Hair Cuttery Night). Bring a canned good and receive discounts at the Zoo’s gift shops.
