“Miss A Special” on Botox and Juvederm at Hela Spa

I was recently given photos from a photo shoot I did in the summer of 2006 with Clay Blackmore for Washington Life Magazine’s 2006 Balls and Galas Issue. My Assistant, Rachael Schwartz saw them and told me that I looked “like a totally different person.” I was a totally different person back then, as I’ve grown and changed a great deal in the past three years, but what Rachael was talking about was how my face has changed — for the better.

oy9z5881If you look at the photo you’ll see lots of lines around my eyes. Shortly after this photo was taken, I had my very first Botox injection at Hela Spa. I actually invited all the girls participating in Blondes vs. Brunettes powder puff footbal to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association to come watch me get Botox at Hela Spa. Although many of the girls were in their 20’s, you’re never too young to learn how to take care of your skin. Ever since my late 20’s I’ve been applying 30 SPF sunscreen on a daily basis – rain, or shine, summer or winter, and I think it has made a difference in my skin. However, creams won’t get rid of crow’s feet and other lines. That is where Botox and Juvederm Ultra Plus come into play.

This past June, I received more Botox from Hela Spa and tried dermal filler for the first time, as I was starting to develop nasolabial lines. As we age, there is a loss of support to the skin in the cheek area. This is due to loss of fat, collagen and elastin. Additionally, gravity takes its toll on us over time and causes the skin to fall downwards. This gives us the deep folds in the nasolabial region, as well as fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Many people also develop sunken cheeks from aging or excessive dieting. Melanie Erb, CRNP did a fabulous job plumping up my cheeks and getting rid of nasolabial lines that were developing on my face. And as always, Botox did the trick on getting rid of crow’s feet at the corner of my eyes, lines between my eyebrows and lines on my forehead. Melanie used the tools of Botox and Juvederm in an intelligent manner, and left me with a natural look — not the frozen Botox face. If you’d like to read more about my experience and details on the procedure, take a look at what I wrote for HealthCentral Network on Botox and Juvederm Ultra Plus.

If you are interested in trying Botox and Juvederm for yourself, Hela Spa is offering my readers a “Miss A Special”. You can get $75 off each site of Botox and $200 off each vial of Juvederm, when you mention Miss A when you book your appointment. You will need to pay for your service when you make your appointment to lock in the special price. Offer ends at 6pm on this Friday, October 23rd. Just call Hela Spa at (202) 333-4445, and be sure to mention it’s the Miss A Special.

For full disclosure, yes, I do receive complimentary Botox and Juvederm from Hela, however I have been offered free Botox and fillers from other spas, too. I wouldn’t take the freebies from other spas, as I don’t have the trust in them that I do in Hela’s professionals. I have known two of the investors in Hela Spa since before they opened the Georgetown location, and think very highly of them and their vision for Hela Spa. Freebies are great, but I would rather go without Botox than get it from someone unskilled. I don’t play around when it comes to my face.

Let me know if you have any questions! I highly recommend them, and have great trust and confidence in Melanie Erb.
