If September has you feeling nostalgic for college, or you’re just in the mood for great vocals, head to The Birchmere on Friday, September 25 at 7:30. The Harmony Invitational is hosting Boston’s Ball in the House, NYC’s Blue Jupiter, DC’s Cartoon Johnny, and Pittsburgh’s DoubleShot! for a night of award-winning a cappella. Each of the groups performing next Saturday were audience favorites at previous Harmony Sweepstakes. Tickets are $29.50 and doors are at 6 pm. I’m hoping to make it, and will write a review if I do.
If you can’t make it to the Harmony Invitational on September 25th at the Birchmere, but you are in the mood for a cappella and don’t want to spend a lot of money, check out Wedding Weekend on Netflix. It has a lot of faces you’ll recognize, and the added amusement of watching grown men fret over the state of their lives in a way (the men in my life claim, anway) real men don’t actually do. Now that I’ve seen Wedding Weekend, I know better.
