If September has you feeling nostalgic for college, or you’re just in the mood for great vocals, head to The Birchmere on Friday, September 25 at 7:30. The Harmony Invitational is hosting Boston’s Ball in the House, NYC’s Blue Jupiter,
DC’s Cartoon Johnny, and Pittsburgh’s DoubleShot! for a night of award-winning a cappella. Each of the groups performing next Saturday were audience favorites at previous Harmony Sweepstakes. Tickets are $29.50 and doors are at 6 pm. I’m hoping to make it, and will write a review if I do.
If you can’t make it to the Harmony Invitational on September 25th at the Birchmere, but you are in the mood for a cappella and don’t want to spend a lot of money, check out Wedding Weekend on Netflix. It has a lot of faces you’ll recognize, and the added amusement of watching grown men fret over the state of their lives in a way (the men in my life claim, anway) real men don’t actually do. Now that I’ve seen Wedding Weekend, I know better.

Miss A! “Short-time listener, first time caller.”… Thanks for blogging a cappella and I’m looking forward to reading your review!
Any idea what happened to the Harmony Invitational? Or even The DC Invite blog? After 2009′s terrific event, I’ve been waiting and waiting for the 2010 event to be announced. Instead, thedcinvite Web site has been taken over by some odd gambling-real estate blog, the Harmony Invitational Facebook page is as silent as a graveyard, and the Birchmere wordlessly mocks my a cappella jones. Help! (Thanks)
