Saving the Planet– One Wrinkle at a Time!

Melanie Erb
In Washington, we’re all Type A Overachievers who are all about multi-tasking. It seems every event I attend is tied to charity in one way or another. We have fashion shows to raise money for charities. We attend polo events to benefit nonprofits. Charities raise money with everything from Professional Boxing Matches to Powder Puff Football Games, and of course there are the seemingly endless shopping events where boutiques give a portion of sales to a particular charity.
If I somehow make it inside my grocery store without running into the Salvation Army or the Girl Scouts, there’s always the lady at the checkout asking if I want to donate a dollar. “No! I don’t. I just want to buy my groceries. And no, I’m not an uncaring person. Really! I do a lot for charities around town!” And if an event is not for charity — it’s to raise money for somebody’s campaign coffer. It seems as if Washingtonians just won’t allow ourselves to party for the sake of partying in D.C.
Well, why not save the planet one wrinkle at a time, rather than one cocktail at a time? Perhaps it’s just my own aging that has inspired me, but it seems like a great idea as our population is aging, and is increasingly using procedures such as Botox. So Ladies, please join me and DC Girls in the Know’s Chris Jacobs for Girls Night Out at Hela Spa in Georgetown from 7:00 – 9:00 pm! To support Innocents at Risk, I’ve teamed up with DC Girls in the Know, the source for exclusive discounts on luxury products and services, in addition to discounts on some really fun events!
Enjoy wine and hors d’ouevres, and mingle with old and new friends as you learn how to take good care of your skin, and look your best! The event is FREE, and all attendees will receive goodie bags with treats from Hela Spa and Alchime Forever. Attendees who book appointments tonight will receive a discount on their treatment, and a percentage of the treatment’s cost will go to benefit Innocents at Risk, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to fight the trafficking and exploitation of women and children through awareness programs aimed at educating the public of these crimes.
Hela Spa’s Melanie Erb will show how their VISIA system uses multi-spectral imaging to reveal damage on and beneath the surface of our skin that is not detectable by visual examination alone. She will use me as a guinea pig to demonstrate how VISIA can analyze an individual’s wrinkles, pores, evenness of skin tone, and UV spots. Melanie will talk about how to prevent damage, and what procedures are available to correct existing problems such as Sun Damage, Broken Capillaries, Crow’s Feet, Brow Furrows, Frown Lines, Marionette Lines, and Nasolabial Fold. You will learn about Botox and Fillers such as Restylane® , Juvaderm®, Radiesse®. She will give me a consultation, and discuss my options, and then perform the treatments on me, so that you can see how the process works. You all are going to love Melanie! She’s great!
