St.Patrick’s Day Fun To Help The Animals

Back in October, I told you about a really cute, family-friendly Halloween parade for kids and dogs held in Alexandria. Scarlett and I had such a great time at that event. Well, it’s time for another all-American celebration, but this time it’s for St. Patrick’s Day. The Ballyshaner’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is this coming Saturday!
In conjunction with the parade, Karing by Kristina is holding a dog show fundraiser for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. The event will be held at Market Square at King and N. Fairfax Streets in Old Town. I really hope you’ll bring your dog out for this exciting event. If you don’t have a dog, bring your family or friends! Animal shelters need our help more than ever in this economic crisis. A sad growing trend is the “Foreclosure Pets” which are brought to the shelter because their owners lost their home and have to move to a place that won’t allow their pet.
All participants on Vendor Row will be raising funds for the AWLA. This will include:
Karing by Kristina: Selling Krispy Creme Donuts
Barkley Square Bakery: Merchandise and Treats
NOVA Dog Magazine: Selling Raffle Tickets and Pet first aid kits
Dogtopia of Alexandria: Selling Coffee
Nature’s Select: Selling Fun Dog Show T-shirts
Paws and Claws Photography: Doggie Photo Souvenirs
The AWLA will be there with Adoptable Dogs!
