A Night Of Geek And Chic!

Peter Corbett, CEO of iStrategyLabs, Andrea Rodgers, Mike Carson and Mark Drapeau who you’ve met before and who has just launched his own blog.

Last night, I went to Left Bank in Adams Morgan for TECH cocktail with my friend and Web Producer, Mike Carson.  TECH cocktail was founded in May 2006 by Frank Gruber and Eric Olson and offers events and community-powered projects open to bloggers, technology enthusiasts, entrepreneurs & professionals interested in technology in under served technology communities. Their mission is to help amplify the technology signal in under served markets and have fun doing it.

I really enjoyed going from booth to booth learning about new ways to exchange contact information (www.dubmenow.com), gauge where everyone is going out (www.localist.com), or message your friends through various social networks (www.sharememe.com). There was also cool stuff geared toward developers, such as an application that would synthesize large amounts of text and process what the text was about and if it was positive or negative toward a particular subject (www.openamplify.com).

After TECH cocktail, Mike and I headed to Teatro Goldoni for the Fashion for Paws kick off party! I caught up with friends and tried my luck at the Roulette table. It was a very fun night, and a taste of great things to come at Fashion for Paws 2009 at the Embassy of Italy. VIP tickets have sold out, but regular tickets are still available. I’d hate for my readers to miss out, so please buy your tickets this weekend before they are sold out. Click here to purchase your tickets or make a donation to my fundraising campaign!
