Too Young To Be This Boring!

Miss A,

My boyfriend and I are in a rut. All we do is watch tv, make out, maybe go get dinner someplace fast, and once in a blue moon, we see a movie at Tyson’s and maybe do a little shopping. We need to have more fun and have more experiences.

He has been saying that he wants to learn how to cook, so I thought it might be fun to do a couples cooking class. Do you have any suggestions as to where we could go?

Too Young to Be This Boring

Dear Too Young to Be This Boring,

Yes, you most certainly are too young to be that boring! As someone approaching age 40, I have to say that getting older doesn’t mean you can’t have an exciting life, and try new things. I think taking cooking classes together is a great idea. It will give you a common goal to focus on together, and an interesting shared experience. This will bring you closer.

I recommend L’Academie de Cuisine in Bethesda, which offers both professional and recreational cooking classes. For their recreational courses, they offer demonstration classes as well as participation classes. You can choose from Cooking, Baking & Pastry, International Cuisines, Wine and many more. Cooking includes things like Grill & Barbecue which most men would enjoy, Vegetarian, and even Holiday for cooking special holiday meals. Baking & Pastry includes courses on Chocolate which I think everyone would love, Breads, Candies, and Cakes. They also have Wine Tastings and Wine Dinners. I think you’ll be very happy with their professionalism, and the variety in their course offerings. L’Academie de Cuisine offers gift certificates, so that might be a fun gift idea, too.

Good luck and let me know how it goes!
